Great storyline - horrible narration.
Revisado: 07-28-23
The voice acting in this is so bad that I just can’t finish. Or maybe Ms. Wiley was the wrong choice. Could have been absolutely awesome if it wasn’t for that.

Spiritual game-changer!
Revisado: 11-15-20
This book made me realize just how many Sunday sermons and Bible Study groups I’ve been in have been like the blind leading the blind. I love the purity of going back to the original text, and having the language and context in which it was written laid out so clearly. Suddenly so much makes sense!

Classic fairytale with fantastic characters.
Revisado: 06-07-19
This is the third book by this author I’ve read/listened to. She creates “worlds” so well and is a great storyteller. I find her central characters unique, strong and likeable. So glad the sexual chemistry is crackling and healthy and not coercive, controlling or dysfunctional.
Narration could have been better (she didn’t pronounce several words properly) and was a bit forced at first, but I adapted to it.

Complex plot and characters
Revisado: 08-09-16
I'm completely hooked on this series ...the complexity of the murder mystery is augmented by fantastic characters and the ongoing relationship issues of the central characters. Ms. Porter does an excellent job of narrating and the only complaint is have is that Miss Jarvis' voice sounds far too old for a 25 year old woman. Still, very engrossing and a wonderful way to pass the time on my commute.

Revisado: 07-07-16
I love Lauren Willig's writing style, the wit, the mischief, and great fun of her story lines. I was especially impressed that she could take two essentially unlikeable characters and make the reader sympathetic to them. I was totally rooting for them!

Good, but lacking the wow factor.
Revisado: 07-15-15
The story was good, but did not have me riveted. Also, I think the narrator's voice was too mature-sounding to pull off all the young female characters...which is a pet peeve of mine. I understand that the narrator in the following books is different, so we'll see how that goes.
