loved this long and wonderfully informative book

i wss curious about the book having seen the musical that inspired it. I wept at his death. What an extraordinary man and his family. i learned much about him and of our country before and after its birth. The reader always held my interest! Was sorry to see it end! i admit to feeling daunted by its size. But it was well worth the time!!

A different take on a theme

Although there are some inevitable comoarisons with, "The Shining," "Dr Sleep," and "The Sixth Sense," this is a fresh take on similar paranormal abilities. I smell an eventual sequel too! LOL. But it was thoroughly enoyable. Jyst shorter than many of his other books which can be quite long in comoarison. Ibwasnt ready for it to be over. But well woth the money! I heartily endorse. Just wish it were longer. I would have like to see him even older as we saw with the character in Dr Sleep. He's a smart writer and knows what he is doing! Thats why I keep coming back yo his works!

the dialogue is top notch. lots of humor. these arr just like a unseen episode. while corny at times, the performances are stellar and lift the material to great heights! loved this and i miss Tennant and Donna Noble!!

an amazing book!

i was thinking of changing careers and switching to be a hospice social worker. this was VERY informative. The author had the soul of a poet and i thoroughly enjoyed. this. there were a few gross parts that I was too squeamish to listen to. As a social worker, I have been in some horrific homes but not as bsd as the 2 among many she described. i would love to take the author to lunch. She is a wise doul.

i would not have picked the old west to have traveled to, but the narrative was interesting. but i sometimes wanted to slap the characters.

Acting was great and the story was like a classic episode. dialogue between the characters was realistic and there was good dramatic tension. A chance to better know Admiral Nogura too.

informative & challenging

I love this author abd heave read several of his works. I always learn much from him as I did in this book. I am not a fundamentalist although I once was and I am very familiar with the "historical critical" method of examining the bible. I've come to appreciate their expertise but view it as a good educated guess on many issues. Knowing exactly what the historical Jesus us a great example of this. Scholars firm opinions that may or may not be true on a variety of conclusions. Still, this is a fascinating and wortthwhile book. I especially enjoyed hearing about the evolution of thought in the after life in early Christian thought and writings. i thoroughly enjoyed this book and found his musings at the end personal and a meaningful ending to this book. Thanks Professor, I would love to have coffee with you and always interested to hear what you have to say.

a decent time travel yarn

I took a chance on this. I think mine will be the first review on audible. I liked it. Narrator was great and the tale was engaging. I will order the second one too.
