Historia
The narrator of Atwood's riveting novel calls himself Snowman. When the story opens, he is sleeping in a tree, wearing an old bedsheet, mourning the loss of his beloved Oryx and his best friend Crake, and slowly starving to death. He searches for supplies in a wasteland where insects proliferate and pigoons and wolvogs ravage the pleeblands, where ordinary people once lived, and the Compounds that sheltered the extraordinary. As he tries to piece together what has taken place, the narrative shifts to decades earlier. How did everything fall apart so quickly?

If you are working in genetic engineering. Read
Revisado: 12-20-21
The book was an imaginative but not ludicrous look into a future with better genetic engineering tools. The best part is the book leaves you wondering about the protagonist's motivations leaving you to think "how did this happen". Read it, love it, pass it on.

Historia
The galaxy remembers Hadrian Marlowe as a hero: the man who burned every last alien Cielcin from the sky. They remember him as a monster: the devil who destroyed a sun, casually annihilating four billion human lives - even the emperor himself - against Imperial orders. But Hadrian was not a hero. He was not a monster. He was not even a soldier. Fleeing his father and a future as a torturer, Hadrian finds himself stranded on a strange, backwater world.

Historia
Benjamin Franklin is the founding father who winks at us - an ambitious urban entrepreneur who rose up the social ladder, from leather-aproned shopkeeper to dining with kings. In best-selling author Walter Isaacson's vivid and witty full-scale biography, we discover why Franklin turns to us from history's stage with eyes that twinkle from behind his new-fangled spectacles. In Benjamin Franklin, Isaacson shows how Franklin defines both his own time and ours. The most interesting thing that Franklin invented, and continually reinvented, was himself.

Historia
Why is Red Bull so popular, though everyone—everyone!—hates the taste? Humans are, in a word, irrational, basing decisions as much on subtle external signals (that little blue can) as on objective qualities (flavor, price, quality). The surrounding world, meanwhile, is irreducibly complex and random. This means future success can’t be projected on any accounting spreadsheet. To strike gold, you must master the dark art and curious science of conjuring irresistible ideas: alchemy.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Wow that was really fun and inspirational.
Revisado: 12-18-20
I had reservations about the autobiography of an actor but I was wrong and I owe Matthew an apology. His life was interesting and informative to some important best practices we might all adopt. I advise all to read this worldly preacher drop sermons on sermons until the reader is forced to break out their crayons and redraft aspects of their life.

Thank you, Nathalia, for an amazing look at the science behind HIV. I am working at American Gene Technologies on a functional cure for HIV and picked the book up to listen to on my commute. I really enjoyed the way you tied years of research together through characters. I learned several things I would never have captured without your book. For instance, I can see the National Cancer Institute (AZT) from my office. You are a gifted writer. I will definitely pick up Rocket Girls soon.
