Historia
New York Times bestselling author Matt Fraser knows a lot about life… from the dead. We’ve all heard there is a mystical moment that occurs just before you die—or right after you get to Heaven—in which your life flashes before your eyes in vivid detail. The chronicle of your achievements, your failures, your loves, your losses, your daily rituals, your lifelong friendships invites a new perspective through which to view your life. But what if you did not need to wait until your death bed or the pearly gates to experience this phenomenon?

Uplifting
Revisado: 10-06-24
I've listened to Matt on podcasts. I really enjoy his energy and so was thankful he chose to read his book himself. His enthusiasm, compassion, and humor come through his voice. It was a real delight to listen to the whole book. The reflection questions were excellent. I appreciated the depth and insight his questions offer each of us.

Historia
Piranesi lives in the House. Perhaps he always has. In his notebooks, day after day, he makes a clear and careful record of its wonders: the labyrinth of halls, the thousands upon thousands of statues, the tides that thunder up staircases, the clouds that move in slow procession through the upper halls. On Tuesdays and Fridays Piranesi sees his friend, the Other. At other times he brings tributes of food to the Dead. But mostly, he is alone.

My son wept
Revisado: 10-17-22
At my son's graduation dinner his girlfriend gave him a painting. As soon as the torn paper revealed the image his body began to tremble and he cried silently. The painting depicted one of the halls in this book. My son doesn't cry often. His girlfriend laughed nervously. I asked in awe what prompted the tears. He explained that this book was one of the finest novels he's ever read. I had to purchase Piranesi. I listened as I followed the book held in my hands. Beautifully narrated, profoundly written. My son has read it at least three times. I understand why. he's a bit like Piranesi, thoughtful and quiet, with a tender concern for humanity.
