Historia
The Bobiverse is a different place in the aftermath of the Starfleet War, and the days of the Bobs gathering in one big happy moot are far behind. There’s anti-Bob sentiment on multiple planets, the Skippies playing with an AI time bomb, and multiple Bobs just wanting to get away from it all. But it all pales compared to what Icarus and Daedalus discover on their 26,000-year journey to the center of the galaxy.

Feels more like a filler with a cliff hanger at the end. This should be marked as book 4.5
Revisado: 10-09-24
The stories while interesting bring not much to the table. The dragon culture is hardly fleshed out. More of a draft of a story. Ai crisis felt meh. Bits and pieces of politics also were basically inconsequential and without much plot to them.

Historia
Bayr of Saylok, bastard son of a powerful and jealous chieftain, is haunted by the curse once leveled by his dying mother. Bartered, abandoned, and rarely loved, she plagued the land with her words: From this day forward, there will be no daughters in Saylok. Raised among the Keepers at Temple Hill, Bayr is gifted with inhuman strength. But he’s also blessed with an all-too-human heart that beats with one purpose: to protect Alba, the first girl child born in nearly two decades and the salvation for a country at risk.

Lack of agency of main character
Revisado: 01-01-22
Nice world setting but story is about people reacting to events and never doing anything about their fate.
Pretty much ever main character just sits there until something happens so they can react.

Not bad, not great
Revisado: 11-15-21
It's rather dry hard scifi of near future. The characters start of interesting but they don't really have any arcs.
The problems that crew goes through are presented and dealt with without much buildup or twist. Problem => solution and move on. Maybe except one of the last that opens so many possibilities for plot to progress but it also fizzles out very quickly and is not mentioned again.
The lawyer and owner plot seems a bit lacking to the point where it could be cut out completely.
The positive is meta look at venture capitalist overtaking the space exploration and a critical look at the values those people bring to the table. Or better lack of some values. At first I felt book is very much pro privatisation of space, beginning has a lot of glamourificstion of billionaires.
Overall ok read but sadly forgettable book with a cheap setup for part 2 that I will be skipping.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Nice self contained hard scifi story
Revisado: 05-14-21
I was surprised how much I enjoyed the story. The premise is interesting from get go, bit of mystery , bit of problem solving and sprinkle of adventure. All in space.
Some authors tend to slip in quality after their big break, but that's not the case here.
If you liked Martian, you will like this book too.
Same as Martian this story suffers a bit with 'numeroisis' where all the calculations are presented during problem solving parts i tend to just gloss over it. Not a big deal, it's rather a nitpick. Story ended bit off to me but that's author's choice so again nitpick rather then a fault.
I liked the structure of the story being split in two. The current mainline story and the flashbacks leading up to the start of the current mainline. It made sense narratively and structurally filled the gaps in a seamless way. Usually I am not a big fan of such narrative devices but Andy made it work.
Overall I strongly recommend if you are looking for a fun scify book that is not 'Book 1 of infinite series that will drag on till heat death of the infinity'.

skippy the meh
Revisado: 09-02-20
finally decided that this is the last one, the book kinda ends where I am going to treat it as conclusion of the story.
I honestly couldn't tell you what happened few books back. the author is really milking the story since around book 5ish. the characters are static, nothing really changes and the 'action' bits are wearing off. In this book I wasn't even slightly exited about action stuff which is few and spread out between fillers.
The big stuff is teased but we get drips of it. instead we are getting hours of bishop acting like a teen around adams for... I dunno 5 books now?
even author is kinda making meta jokes about it.
The problem is that this is a male flick story, humorous with action bits. It has some grand politicing bits but those were a background settings. it feels like that is being brought forth as bigger part of story, aliens their alliances and diplomatic relations, the thing is this feels boring and fillery. it's like the story is trying to change from lighearted sci-fi action into political drama more akin to dune.
Being honest I think the reason I got this far was top notch performance by RCB, he really breaths life into the characters. and is pleasure listening to.

Feels like a pitch for a tv series, some episodes are bit disjointed but nevertheless fun experience. I like the world building and characters. I am looking forward to second book/performance/season

Historia
After the Renegade mission by the crew of the starship Flying Dutchman, the UN Expeditionary Force thought Earth was safe for hundreds of years, at least. After there was trouble on the home front and the president had to authorize a nuclear strike on an American city, UNEF decided they did need the Merry Band of Pirates again. So, the Flying Dutchman is sent out on a simple recon mission. But for the pirates, nothing is ever simple, and their mission will become Armageddon.

Same old story, starting to get too repetive
Revisado: 11-10-19
I enjoy the series as a soap opera for men but last few books it feels like the story is just waffle and filler with not much actually happening.
I don't think even excelent VA is working anymore for me.
sadly I think the author is set on milking this cow untill it drops dead, given spinnoff was written.
I might listen to one more but if nothing improves I will have to move on.

Historia
In 2016, one of the giants of modern journalism fell: Gawker Media, infamous for saying what other outlets wouldn't say, was sued for publishing Hulk Hogan's sex tape, lost the case and went bust. After countless other lawsuits it seemed that Gawker had finally run out of luck. But luck had nothing to do with it. Peter Thiel, PayPal founder and billionaire investor, had masterminded the whole thing.

Revisado: 08-14-18
Interesting story that will make you think hard who is right and who is a bad guy.
But me holidays narration is abysmal. Monotonous and badly paced like he is reading it for the first time and sometimes has to stitch in the rest of the sentence. Next time maybe hire a profesional VA.

Nothing interesting really happened in the story.
Revisado: 08-07-18
There was a light commentary on pointlessness of war and it was quickly brushed away.
The side characters deaths are pointless as they are not really fleshed out to make me care in the slightless.
The main protagonist feels flat and is somehow good at everything and will survive anything universe will throw at him.
Apart from few things it's just a boring go there and shot things plot.
