Just so much horrific fun -- a memorable protagonist, great side characters, and vivid story telling. Interesting twist near the end was very well executed and ratcheted up the creepy factor.

Enjoyable conclusion to the Great Cities duology that gets stronger in the more inventive second half. Robin Miles performance and the sound design are off-the-charts brilliant (stay for the end credits!).

Interesting protagonist and plot, but the last third of the book isn't as strong. Devolves into post apocalypse pining. Oddly, the narrator gets better as the book goes on.

Really enjoyed this sequel -- if the first one was more of an action-adventure plot, this one takes an almost noir-ish turn, as Murderbot has to deal with some of the issues in its history. There's more of a focus on self-knowledge, even when it isn't entirely welcome. The back and forth between ART and Murderbot is wonderful (and laugh out loud funny at points).
Very much looking forward to the next one in the series!

Psychological horror story

Horrifying but beautifully constructed look into the mind of a young man who is very much in love...and also delusional, prone to terrifying outbursts of anger, and about to utterly ruin several lives. Compelling. I'd give it 4.5 for the story -- it just felt it could have been tightened up a little.
