Historia
Putting the Grand Quest behind them, the party rides onward in search of answers. Between one member's unexpected new condition and the mysteries of the Bridge, their only hope appears to be gaining entrance to Lumal, said to hold the greatest collection of knowledge in all the kingdoms. But when a curious path appears in a seemingly uninhabited forest, the party finds themselves in a place set apart from the kingdoms, and the world at large: a hidden hamlet, filled by unusual people, all of whom have long histories of their own.

Keeps getting Better
Revisado: 03-05-19
Epic NPCs, New monsters, new magic, more character growth... First few minutes seemed meh, but then picked up speed and never stopped! More of what hooked me in the first book. Worlds, they are colliding!

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

NOT your average Sci-Fi Invasion Story!
Revisado: 03-17-17
Would you listen to Columbus Day again? Why?
Very well narrated somewhat above average alien invasion story... for someone with intelligence slightly above that of bacteria, good only for making the daily drudgery a little more bearable... until that A-Hole Beer Can shows up! An audio book hasn't made me laugh so much since, well, ever! I initially picked this up for two reasons: 1. Sci-Fi 2. Bray, Now I can't wait to listen to the next book!
What did you like best about this story?
Well written ebb and flow between serious and silly... even in the pre beer can sections. Alanson takes a bunch of sci-fi themes (cliches?) and weaves them into something refreshing.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes!
Any additional comments?
The interaction between the main character and his beer can make for the Delicious Center of this Audio Fortune Cookie!

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

A Dungeon Crawl Down Memory Lane
Revisado: 08-30-16
Having graduated high school in 1985, this book brings back sooooooo many memories! Great sorry and narration. I highly recommend to everyone (not just those who are into 80's pop culture).
