This series was one of my absolute favorites as a child in the 90s, and I have to say that even as an adult many years later it is just as much of a delight to revisit this series, if not even better with a more matured view on things. I highly recommend the entire series.

This one started out well, and quickly became more and more of a chore to listen to. The first chapter starts the listener/ reader off in the fast paced world that was present in The Devil Wears Prada, but this ends pretty quickly and we're instead given more of a bad romance story with way too much "filler" detail. The author takes forever to get to any point, and fills the pages with so much unnecessary detail and uninteresting inner dialogue from the mind of Andy that I often was unable to focus on the story out of sheer boredom, and often found myself thinking "get to the point already". Without all of the boring filler, this would have been a really short story, and that in itself say's a lot about the substance within this book. I really liked the idea of Emily and Andy becoming best friends, but the author botched this as well, creating yet another unsatisfactory ending that involves Andy getting together with an ex, while I think a much better ending would have been Andy and Emily overcoming the obstacles presented in the book and coming out on top as a team, rather than ending with Andy falling into the arms of a man who never supported her to begin with. Also I had been hoping for more Miranda, as the book's description implies, yet her presence in this book is noticeably lacking and the "revenge" aspect that is also implied by the title is completely non-existent.

If you enjoyed The Devil Wears Prada, as I did, it's an interesting visit back into that realm of characters, but honestly wasn't worth the time in the end. Megan did an acceptable job narrating.

It was interesting. Not quite as engaging as The Hunger Games

The story was good, and I appreciate being able to learn a little bit about Snow, but it felt as if it was unfinished, even though it also feels like we won’t get a sequel to this particular story and I don’t know how interested I would be in reading it’s sequel.
The narrator could have been much better, as his storytelling fell a little flat, and his renditions of any character besides Snow felt awkward. The quality of the recording was choppy as well. Mixed in with what seemed like quality recording were cuts that were very clearly of lesser quality, as if some of the recording was done in a professional studio and many others were done from a poorly insulated home studio.
I’d recommend this book for anyone who has read The Hunger Games series and wants to know more about Snow, for the sake of nostalgia in revisiting Panem.
