Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Best book, EVER!!!
Revisado: 01-18-23
"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways." Nah, there's NO way to express how much I loved this book and I am telling you I am feeling it, BIG! It simply is a wonderful, smooth read. There was no "drag" as was common with most books I've read, but this one kept me tuned in until it was finished. You should know that I have some 50 books on audio that I have never finished! Yup, this one was a saver in more ways than one!

Michael McDowell - I LOVE this author!!
Revisado: 09-03-22
Michael McDowell is now my new favorite author and Matt Godfrey, my new favorite narrator!! They are such a perfect match!! This book really came to life for me. I found myself feeling like a member of the family the more I read. Turning the last page was heartbreaking for me because it signified the end to the fantastic journey we were all making, together. I will miss everybody! But, you know, I still keep them in my heart.
I intend to read every book Michael McDowell writes or Matt Godfrey narrates. Get this book! You won't regret it!, There is drama, horror, love, expectation, disappointment ... all the stuff of life but McDowell works it all out seamlessly. This is one of the best books I've read in a long, long time!

Historia
Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip - a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfre. The boys are a tight-knit crew. There’s Kent, one of the most popular kids in school; Ephraim and Max, also well-liked and easygoing; then there’s Newt the nerd and Shelley the odd duck. For the most part, they all get along and are happy to be there - which makes Scoutmaster Tim’s job a little easier.

One of my favorites
Revisado: 11-22-21
This story, this author, this narrator... perfect! I was glued to this book and finished it in less than 2 days!! The narrator was just right for this book as far as narrators go: not rushing thru the lines and really giving a good performance. The writer is something else, meaning that in a most extraordinary way. As an old Stephen King devotee, I say "SK, move over; there's a new kid in town!"

Captivating, spellbinding, best read so far this year!!
Revisado: 08-27-21
I can’t make up my mind as to whether the author or the story made this book work as well as it did because both were superb! From this point on I want to gather up every book written by the author and I want to listen to every audio ever read by the wonderful narrator! Did I make myself clear, here? GET THIS BOOK!! You will love it!!

Historia
On May 1, 1915, with WWI entering its tenth month, a luxury ocean liner as richly appointed as an English country house sailed out of New York, bound for Liverpool, carrying a record number of children and infants. The passengers were surprisingly at ease, even though Germany had declared the seas around Britain to be a war zone. For months, German U-boats had brought terror to the North Atlantic.

Judge a book by its cover, AND by the narrator!!
Revisado: 01-18-21
The narrator sells it with me! And Scott brick is" superb" in this one!! Some narrators drag it out or garble their words so that the only way I can listen to them is with my headset on tho I prefer not having to put one on. Bricks narration and tempo was perfect and vocally crystal clear. At this moment I am adding every book he narrates to my wish list! As for the story line and all ensuing events, it was riveting and could not have been written better. Between the author and the narrator... well, I am hoping these two form a lifelong relationship that I know will almost certainly come with a built-in promise guaranteeing audio listeners everywhere, a great read! Thank you guys!!!

I really enjoyed this one and highly recommend it. It's an easy follow read and the narrators were just as good. A few storage were too short but enjoyable nonetheless. I'm hoping to find another like this!
