Rather large disappointment..

I was excited, till I started listening and couldn't believe the authors Iona Andrews would have approved this, Then today according to their website this is pirated. I do hope I and others who purchased this get our money back but is taken care of properly without issue to the REAL Ilona Andrews.

Pretty great Adaption

This is by far my favorite series. I always come back to this series, but the 1st book is a bit rough to get through and I tend to skip a few parts.
Graphic Audio has done its magic and revamped the story. I was truly excited to see what could happen.

Loved the Cover art.
I'm very glad I started getting the Graphic Audio versions.., And I was very eager for GA to have a turn at Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series. GA did such a fantastic job with the Innkeeper series, I was on pins and needles. As a member of BDH and have been a huge fan of House Andrews for years, I liked most of the books as they were but always interested in the new turns. I like a lot of the choices for the characters and will get used to others that didn't grab me right away. My only complaint is that as a person who happens to be losing my hearing, it is getting difficult to make out certain voices. This is a sound engineering thing, and I keep hoping it will get better with more works GA does. This really stands out with the background voices and sounds. I may know the story but I rely on my memory to fill in the confusion, rather than actually making out what a character says or sounds expressing. I had a difficult time hearing Curran. At first, I wasn't liking the voice but it was because I really couldn't make out half of what he was saying. At the end of Magic Bites, Currans' POV is clear and I could actually hear him clearly. (THANK YOU BTW, I LOVED the added shorts and POV this makes it worth purchasing on GA and Audible. And yes I did pay for both because I'm too impatient and I want to support GA as much as possible!) It will take time to get used to some of the voices but overall I did like it, after a few stops. Dr. Dolittle though, pretty much had to stop. Coastal Georgian. That was not what I expected. You win some, you lose some. Great job to the team and thank you!

How to save....

So many people highly recommend this series. This being a first book was more emotional then action packed. I took breaks more then a few times. This was not grabbing my attention. Not to say I disliked it. I was very interested in a haunted mansion and was somewhat interested in Grier. In the end the most interesting part of the book to me is the house. There wasn't much to the world building and the Vampires and Necromancer's didn't excite me. I might try the second in the series but not sure.

Kellana on the hunt!

I jumped into this second book, eager to see more of Kellana and the very interesting world she survives in. I was not disappointed. Fast paced and entertaining. Loved her vacation with a twist. Nothing like making it a working holiday to spice up ones life. I listened to my copy from Audible and enjoyed the narration.
Rachel Dulude does a great job with the pacing and impact. Her accent flowed very well for me and was the strawberry on my cheesecake. I can't wait to hear more from this narrator. I am going to be jumping right into the next book, though I'm sad it's not available yet on Audio. I must say I was a bit bummed that we didn't get to visit with Isabella and Mearka (the jaguar and Half Elf, not sure of the spelling since I listened only). As well as a few others of the previous book, but it did not diminish this story for me. I enjoyed meeting new characters and seeing new places. Looking forward to what else comes Kellana's way.

Give me more Elves!

This was a complete surprise to me. I picked this up, with a few others on a day when I needed something new and I think the cover is what got my attention. I don't recall ever hearing anything about this book or author. The last few days, I was in a slump of trying new series by new to me authors and one not new to me, and was completely disappointed and put them down. I started Gods and Demons yesterday afternoon, with no idea what I was getting into. I was completely pulled into the story. I love Kellana! This is exactly the kind of character I wanted to read about. She's smart, witty, and confident, with out being full of herself. I really look forward to more of Kellana and the other characters. I really liked how the story progressed and how it wrapped up. I had one problem with the story. I had a hard time keeping track of all the names, but that was me and I was listening. The Audio was great. I really liked the flow and pace of the narrator. Rachel Dulude did a good job keeping me interested and I liked the accent of Kellana. One minor flaw in the Audio, not the narration. Chapter 27 02:28 with 23 mins left in the story some weird noise happens and I had my headphones in and WOW that hurt. It lasted maybe a minute or so, so not much info was lost. I was hoping it was something with my download on my Ipod but I downloaded it onto my android phone and checked. The really loud noise is still there in the same spots. So other then that Please check this out. I will be getting then next in the series Dragon's Egg!

Quick Romance

This was an okay story. I enjoyed it for the most part, but I'm a reader of ménage romance and this was more on the light side for me. Nothing wrong with that, I do believe this is one of those stories to reach a broader audience. I listened to this on Audible's Romance Package. Liked the narration and Jacob Morgan is a favorite of mine so it was a win. The sex is glossed over and there is drama added to give the reader the understanding that the unconventional is tough, but there can be a HEA.

Now I did have a few issues with this: 1. If you really love a person you don't let your parents disrespect them and scare them off. 2. Don't jump to conclusions, open your mouth and ask questions. There are better books out there that are MFM and MMF and even some FFM that are much better, but not very many that get on Audio.

Wrenching this one

I have a soft spot for Mechanic's and will pick up anything with one in it. The narration needed a lot of work. I don't mind banter, but this was crossing a line. The funny banter and fighting was over the top and childish. They behaved like teens. Lets not get me started on the mechanics working under cars with shorts. Not to say I haven't but it's very uncomfortable and really hard on the knees. Even if it's so flipping hot outside, I'd rather be wearing jeans then getting down on the ground on my bare knees. When I go to a JOB interview I'm Going to dress for the JOB. If said job is for working on cars I'm wearing clothes and SHOES that are comfortable and easy to move around in with out worrying about dirty, grease and rips, not like I'm going clubbing.

Loved getting schooled

This was a feel good romance. Something about the idea of a 2nd chance and teachers who were once students with a past had me interested I picked it up on Audible with the Romance Package, and I went back and used a credit to add permanently to my library. This was good and more the likely going on my Fav's shelf to re-read. Zachary Webber & Andi Arndt are a awesome narration team, and really bring the story out. I'm looking forward to the next in the series. This was funny and emotional with out excess drama, or over the top crushing pain to pull me in. I laughed and teared and was filled with joy.

Over dramatize angst. Not my cup of tea. I can see why other people like it but this wasn't for me and I can see a few others.

The one major saving grace was I got this on Audible and the narration is very good. Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber are wonderful and do a good job. Unfortunately the twisted plot and story line that is right up there with a daytime drama.
