Historia
There are secrets buried inside of me. From scars I don't remember getting to memories that creep at the edges of my mind, I know there are answers just out of my reach. I'm missing something. Something important. I thought the Sinners had my back, but am I right about that? Or, are they just playing me again? Among the privileged elite of Hawthorne University, not knowing who to trust can be deadly.

Entertaining But Not As Good As The 1st Book
Revisado: 12-10-20
A decent second book. Wish the 3rd book was on Audible. I guess I’ll get to the last book when I have time to read it.
Okay, so my feelings about the RH vibe is still up in the air. I liked that we got to know Declan more. He’s my favorite. But we literally know nothing about Elias other than he has rich parents and he tore his ACL, which stopped him from going pro. And... I’ll give you one guess who she has over-the-top feelings for. Yep, you guessed it — Grey! The feelings that she feels for him knocks everyone else out of the running. It’s just hard to imagine them all together. If I were Elias or Declan, I’d be jealous as hell because she obviously has a favorite. Call me picky, but it really bothers me.
Also, instead of being the badass she was in the 1st book, Sophie’s whiny internal dialogue about Grey become overly irritating and had me speeding up the pace to get through her pity party. Additionally, she never has thoughts like that about Elias or Declan. There’s still plot holes that have never been answered, and at this point, I think they’ve been forgotten completely and will never be tied up.
The ending is interesting and came out of left field, but this ain’t my ride. So, lead the way, Ms. Ashwood. Hope you got some fun up your sleeve, cuz I’m here for the duration. :)

Historia
I never wanted to come here. The scholarship to Hawthorne University is my ticket to a better life, but I don’t fit in with these rich, privileged students. I’m the daughter of a drug addict. A girl with a half-remembered past. A foster kid who’s seen too much of the wrong side of humanity. My tattoos are my battle scars, and my heart beats for no one. Until I meet them. Gray, Declan, and Elias.

Entertaining With All the Feels BUT NOT RH
Revisado: 12-10-20
A reverse harem equals a group of males (3 or more) that all want a female. In return, the female wants all of them for different reasons and needs them all equally. She cannot choose between them because of her desire for ALL OF THEM.
The story thus far does not contain the correct RH ingredients She’s clearly fixated on Grey and uses the other guys to get Grey’s attention. Declan and Elias are her friends with kissing benefits.
Okay, now that I have addressed the elephant in the room, I have to say Eva Ashwood knows how to write. I’m glad I took a chance on this one. I was drawn into Sophie’s world right away. There are a few horrible acts of bullying that are simply overlooked when they should’ve been addressed with answers of who did them. With how strong she is, I was surprised that she didn’t retaliate more. But so far, I’m really enjoying the series.
Btw I hate cliffhangers, so I’m happy the second book is available on audible. Hope the third book is in the works. I did notice that all of them are available on Kindle Unlimited... so there’s that.

Historia
Bryce Matthews doesn't do the whole nice boyfriend thing. Chocolates and flowers - girls can forget all that. And he certainly doesn't care about the gossip and rumors that follow him at school and around town. If anything, the talk amuses him. Bryce isn't lacking in confidence. He knows himself, and he knows his limits. One of those hard limits is Madison Issac. Bryce can never have her, and he's perfectly fine with that. Sometimes the fantasy is better than the reality anyway.

Kissing Book
Revisado: 12-07-20
Started out really well. I had the feeling I was listening to a good steamy bad boy romance then it suddenly transformed into a book for fifteen-year-olds. There’s really no steamy moments. Other than one minor description from Bryce’s male POV, the author doesn’t describe more than a few kisses, so don’t get your hopes up. The characters have little to no depth while the plot gets increasingly irritating with their hot and cold behavior. At times, the dialogue is really confusing. Time is constantly skipped over in weeks and months, and summaries are given to catch the reader up. By the halfway point, the plot is literally all over the place. There’s potential here, but this manuscript needs a major overhaul.

Could Have Been Better
Revisado: 12-01-20
I liked the main characters and there were some cute moments. Personally, I’m just not interested in reading anything about legalities or the like. I’m sure there are plenty of people who will love DJ’s legal problem, however, I found it to be redundant and anti-climactic as most legal issues are. It’s a lot of build up with very little payout, which made the story boring at times.

So Much Better Than Book One!
Revisado: 11-28-20
Rarely do I discover Book 2 to be a huge step up from Book 1, but I love when it happens. I loved both main characters and really enjoyed every minute of this sweet love story.
Saskia Maarleveld is superb while Nick Podehl needs to work on a few things. I had a hard time listening to his whiny feminine voices in both books one and two. Additionally, he needs to zero in on which character he is reading. For instance, he’ll try to give the characters each designated voices, which was great, but then he forgets that he was trying to do that.

She expected to start Harkness College as a varsity ice hockey player. But a serious accident means that Corey Callahan will start school in a wheelchair instead. Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be-real Adam Hartley, another would-be hockey star with his leg broken in two places. He's way out of Corey's league. Also, he's taken. Nevertheless, an unlikely alliance blooms between Corey and Hartley in the "gimp ghetto" of McHerrin Hall.

Decent Listen
Revisado: 11-27-20
It was just okay. Disabilities are rarely written about in this way so that was really what kept me listening. I wish I could say more than that, but the story really didn’t keep me engaged and wanting for more. It was on the boring side.

Historia
He walked into school on his first day and owned it. I guess that's what happens when you're a prick, rich, and you're best friends with the ruling school's king. Also didn't hurt that he's drop-dead gorgeous. That's all fine. I mean, I have nothing to do with them. I'm a loner, invisible, and that's how I wanted it to be. I was even proud of it, until I wasn't. His name is Blaise Devroe. My name is Aspen Monson. He only knew how to get, command, and demand attention. I knew how to do everything but that. And this is our story.

Don’t Listen To This Audiobook! Read It Instead.
Revisado: 11-18-20
I LOVE Tijan and was so excited for this novel. After enduring nearly 4 hours, I am calling it quits. The female narrator is HORRIBLE! Her male voices are absolutely terrible. She makes me cringe constantly. Her delivery of sarcasm and slang needs major work. It’s like having my mom read the book to me and she has no idea what she’s reading, and when she tries, it comes out all wrong. Honestly, after this rendition, I’m not even sure I like the book at all. Maybe I’ll read it someday, but not anytime soon. Who picks these narrators? Tijan had some awesome narrators in her previous books. What the heck happened?

"Go live with Nate Ryder," they said. "Everything will be fine," they said. Are they nuts? Nate Ryder has been the bane of my existence for the past five years. He's made it his personal mission to make my life a living hell and now my parents expect me to go and live with the guy for the foreseeable future. No thanks. I'd rather gouge out my eyes with a toothpick than live with him and his little brother, Jesse. Only problem is, they have my parents wrapped around their little fingers, thinking they're the good little boys they pretend to be.

Pleasantly Surprised
Revisado: 11-16-20
I enjoy a good bully romance and Sheridan Anne does not disappoint. “Broken Hill High” is a mixture of Penelope Ward’s “Bully” and Tijan’s “Fallen Crest High.” I liked both Nate and Tora. I also appreciate how Tora fought to overcome her issues. Can’t wait to start the next book! SIDE NOTE: There’s one angry/cruel review that I do not agree with. The way Tora handled her sexual assault is simply one perspective. Speaking from experience, I know not everyone deals with these deep issues in exactly the same way and not every storyteller is required to go into the horrid aftermath of a survivor’s tale. This is especially true when it is not the intention of the book. Additionally, out of kindness, I recommend readers stay away from bully romance books if this is a difficult subject matter to endure.

Sweetly Predictable
Revisado: 11-15-20
The beginning drew me in and started out well until it started boring me to tears. All the twists are told in the first half, which took all the mystery from the book. It’s way too predictable.

I LOVE Penelope Douglas!
Revisado: 11-15-20
I just love Penelope’s books. Her stories always push the limits and help me remember how real life and emotions impact everything we choose. The depth of her character development is outstanding and always keeps me wanting more. If I had the time to read this one, I would have. The narrators, especially the males were not great. The narrator chosen for Jake sounded like he was commentating a race or fast paced competition. It was overkill and ruined Jake’s character for me.
