Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

The real someness of the story
Revisado: 07-20-24
This was a great story and I hope the make it into a movie even then I don't think a movie will be as good as this book and all the books I have read by Kristin Hannah. I recommend this book because Kristin has written it and I enjoy her books tremendously. the narrator was terrific and well gifted at telling the story as Kristin wrote it. I enjoyed this book very much.

Great book
Revisado: 11-15-21
I enjoyed this book mainly for the family's that it is written about and the picture that the author tries to paint of the Italian towns and the life there in. I have never been to these towns but maybe some day I will get the chance to see them. Great novel thank you to the readers who made it come to life and to Lisa Scottoline for writing it.

This one I enjoyed (but)??
Revisado: 08-16-21
I've enjoyed this book also but I found it a bit drawn out not like the first couple of books in this series. I'll try the next one and see if Jimmy Perez finds a new girlfriend and another big case on Shetland the island with no trees just rocks.

Great story
Revisado: 06-16-21
It started out great and kept building from there. Keeps your attention throughout the book. I liked it but what I was hoping for was a murder mystery to raise my expectations . I figured from the beginning it had to do with witness protection. The narrator was good I enjoyed it.

Very enjoyable book from cover to cover
Revisado: 06-09-21
Jimmy Perez solves two more murders and he still not married to Fran. Some day I would like to see the Shetland Islands . It was a very intriguing book that I enjoyed from beginning to end. I have to get the next book in the series. Ann Cleeves did a very good job of keeping the reader interested and Gordon Griffin is an outstanding narrator. Thank you both.
