Historia
Law professor James J. Duane became a viral sensation thanks to a 2008 lecture outlining the reasons why you should never agree to answer questions from the police - especially if you are innocent and wish to stay out of trouble with the law. In this timely, relevant, and pragmatic new book, he expands on that presentation, offering a vigorous defense of every citizen's constitutionally protected right to avoid self-incrimination.

Never Ever Trust Facebook
Revisado: 05-09-19
This is a cautionary tale for the true geniuses about trusting salespeople. The excuse often used for bad business ethics is a phrase from the movie The Godfather. "It's not personal. It's just business.". And it is false. It is all too personal. Palmer Luckey is duped/betrayed by supposed friends that helped him sell the business to facebook. And this is another tale of bad business behavior by Facebook and the person at the top. It has been said "Where you have great wealth and power, you have great responsibility. This book detail the abuse of power and wealth by Facebook,

A front-line seat to the realities of war
Revisado: 06-30-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Pale Horse to be better than the print version?
I only listened to the audio. I did not read the book.
What did you like best about this story?
The incredible heroism, sacrifice, and dedication of our military to fight terrorists, even when the they know the orders they have been given were not made with good information.
The sheer number of medals given to these units was incredible. It probably should have been more
What about Brian Troxell’s performance did you like?
He had the right tone, tempo, and urgency in his voice to describe the action and keep me coming back for more. He sounded like a commander was speaking.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Historia
Auckland Island is a godforsaken place in the middle of the Southern Ocean, 285 miles south of New Zealand. With year-round freezing rain and howling winds, it is one of the most forbidding places in the world. To be shipwrecked there means almost certain death. In 1864, Captain Thomas Musgrave and his crew of four aboard the schooner Grafton wreck on the southern end of the island. Utterly alone in a dense coastal forest, plagued by stinging blowflies and relentless rain, Captain Musgrave inspires his men to take action.

Very interesting story about perserverance
Revisado: 06-30-17
What did you like best about Island of the Lost? What did you like least?
I liked the story about Island of the Lost. Great story about perseverance, hard work, and luck. The engineer was a life saver for everyone. The least enjoyable was the audio.
What did you like best about this story?
The ingenious ideas of the engineer to construct what ever was needed from scratch.
How could the performance have been better?
A different reader could have made it much more exciting. The same sing-song reading for 8 hours was a little tedious. This was like listening to a very old person read a book. I will not listen to another book read by this person.
Was Island of the Lost worth the listening time?
It was good to hear the history and imagine the hardships. It was good to learn the lessons and see the results of sticking together and good leadership.

Revisado: 06-20-17
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not. Could not listen to the reader
Would you be willing to try another book from Frans de Waal? Why or why not?
Yes. But with a different reader
What didn’t you like about Sean Runnette’s performance?
I could only listen to the first half hour. The reader was whistling thru his teeth. It sounded like he had a mouth full of dentures. I don't know if the book is any good but the reading was terrible.
Did Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are? inspire you to do anything?
No

The KGB officers suffered death in Stalin's purges. Their American accomplices, not needing guidance, built the elite mindset of "reflexive loathing of the United States and its people," that defines PC.

His revolutionary new book shows, for the first time, how the amazing process of neuroplastic healing really works. It describes natural, noninvasive avenues into the brain provided by the forms of energy around us.

The remarkable adaptive ability of the brain.

Dr Doidge

Historia
Tired of the pace and noise of life near London and longing for a better place to raise their young children, Mary J. MacLeod and her husband, George, encountered their dream while vacationing on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides. Enthralled by its windswept beauty, they soon were the proud and startled owners of a near-derelict croft house - a farmer’s stone cottage - on “a small acre” of land. Mary assumed duties as the island’s district nurse.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Call the Nurse?
Having to move whole families with livestock from an island in boats.
Which character – as performed by Gwen Hughes – was your favorite?
The nurse.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The sacrifices of the people who fly in and out to save people.

Interesting Story
Revisado: 03-20-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. While this is an interesting story to start, in the end, it runs off the rails. While the writer and person say they are not contradicting the official LDS church, they do so frequently. And the person puts himself next to Christ. Ya, right. But interesting narrative. Good reader.
Would you recommend Visions of Glory to your friends? Why or why not?
No. It has been thoroughly discredited thru multiple sources.
What else would you have wanted to know about John Pontius’s life?
Nothing.

We Band of Angelsis the story of women searching for adventure, caught up in the drama and danger of war. On the same day the Japanese Imperial Navy launched its surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, it also struck American bases in the Far East, chief among them the Philippines. That raid led to the first major land battle for America in World War II and, in the end, to the largest defeat and surrender of American forces.

Very Inspiring
Revisado: 11-02-16
If you could sum up We Band of Angels in three words, what would they be?
One of the most inspiring stories I have ever had the pleasure to hear. These nurses showed incredible ingenuity, perseverance, and courage along with hard and difficult work to save others before themselves.
What other book might you compare We Band of Angels to and why?
I would compare this story to Band of Brothers on steroids but this story was about women and many, many more of them.
Have you listened to any of Dina Pearlman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I had not listened to her before. I thought she had the perfect voice for this story. Thank you Dina for a great read on a great story. Thank you Elizabeth for a great story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Many moments moved me. The whole book was great.
Any additional comments?
I am giving this book to my daughters and nieces to read for inspiration.
