Historia
Vietnam became the Western world’s most divisive modern conflict, precipitating a battlefield humiliation for France in 1954, then a vastly greater one for the US in 1975. Max Hastings has spent the past three years interviewing scores of participants on both sides, as well as researching a multitude of American and Vietnamese documents and memoirs, to create an epic narrative of an epic struggle. Here are the vivid realities of strife amid jungle and paddies that killed two million people.

Extremely ideological
Revisado: 05-31-24
Excellent story telling and new insights into the Vietnam war. The author focuses on the inequities the Communists all the while making excuses for the crimes of the American. The author fails to mention the exreme racism of the American attitudes towards the Vietnamese and non-whites swerving in the US army. Instead goes out of his way to show liberalism on race that didn't exist. Sexual assault and massacres of the Vietnamesse goes unmentioned. This book is extremely ideology" anti communist, anti left, and anti third world. If the pros weren't so stellar I would recommend skipping.

Historia
This book is the compelling story of President Obama’s domestic policy decisions made between September 2008 and his inauguration on January 20, 2009. Unlike all other presidents except Abraham Lincoln - who decided not to allow slavery to expand westward before he was sworn in - Barack Obama determined the fate of his presidency before he took office. The results of these fateful decisions led to Donald Trump taking his place eight years later. This book describes how and why these decisions were made, and discusses whether the outcomes could have been different.

little ti sympathetic to Obama as a person. He was the president, he made the decisions.
