Historia
Robert Iger became CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005, during a difficult time. Competition was more intense than ever, and technology was changing faster than at any time in the company’s history. His vision came down to three clear ideas: Recommit to the concept that quality matters, embrace technology instead of fighting it, and think bigger - think global - and turn Disney into a stronger brand in international markets.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

The basic leadership book to start with
Revisado: 02-20-21
If you want to learn more about Leadership, this is the book to start with. It puts everything else into perspective and saves so much time of reading other books with "invaluable leadership advice".
That said, I found the narrator's intonation rather strange. He read every comma like a full stop. My advice is to go with the printed copy.

Great book & annoyingly mispronounced names
Revisado: 02-10-21
This book got me thinking in a completely new way. It was extremely insightful and painfully true. I am now in love with System Thinking and intend to continue studying it - this book was only the beginning.
To the narrator: Please, research in advance how to correctly pronounce the names of world-known leaders like Lech Wałęsa, Nicolae Ceaușescu, Genghis Khan, to name just a few.

It's a huge struggle to listen to this book
Revisado: 01-31-21
The story is nice, but my recommendation would be for the printed book. The narration of this audio book is impossible. I would have never thought that the author could read his own thoughts with so much disinterest and lack of or unfitting intonation. And the additional narrators pitching in from time to time are even worse.

Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this piercing work distills 3,000 years of the history of power into 48 well-explicated laws. This bold volume outlines the laws of power in their unvarnished essence, synthesizing the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, and other infamous strategists. The 48 Laws of Power will fascinate any listener interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control.

This books is full of very nice stories. You can ignore the laws (not everybody is interested in power games) and focus on the stories only.
A small note: In the name "Genghis Khan", Khan is actually the title, not the surname (even though it comes after the name, not before).
The narrator is doing an amazing job! I cannot imagine anyone else narrating this book - excellent choice!

So interesting and insightful; I loved it!
Revisado: 01-13-21
I am so glad I did not get discouraged by some of the reviews claiming that the book is a huge Netflix advertisement and nothing more. In my opinion, this statement cannot be further from the truth. The book provides great insight in an extremely captivating way; it is full of stories and lessons learned. I also think Reed Hastings pairing up with Erin Meyer to write the book was an excellent move: she had provided the research on why what Netflix does makes sense, and that gives the book even more merit. Highly recommended for people who would like to learn how to turn their process company around and make it an Agile innovation hub.

Historia
The occasion was a big birthday. And it inspired two close friends to get together in Dharamsala for a talk about something very important to them. The friends were His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. The subject was joy. Both winners of the Nobel Prize, both great spiritual masters and moral leaders of our time, they are also known for being among the most infectiously happy people on the planet.

Lovely book, whose author diminishes its value
Revisado: 07-26-20
The narrators performing the 2 spiritual leaders are doing an excellent job. However, the author, even though he's reading his own thoughts, is putting in zero emotion. It's like he's reading the phone book - he doesn't even smile when telling his own jokes. IMO it will be better if Audible re-records his part only with someone more animated.

Jeez, what was that?!
Revisado: 06-24-20
I just love Thandie Newton, but I am not sure I understood why Robin Morgan-Bentley has to constantly cut her off and speak over her speaking. It was getting a bit ridiculous towards the end: asking her a question, but then not letting her answer. So much for "oh, it's soooooo important that women have a voice" - duh!!!
