This story!!! Wow! Imagine being in an interracial marriage in 1954! How would that resonate with your neighbors, friends, families, and businesses? The created cast and set did a dynamic job! There were so many difficult and intricate social topics that were addressed to include… And Aunt May was the glue that meld the stories with her outstanding advice and cooking skills. RIP to Curtis. You will be sadly missed. Guy, you really surprised me in the end. Bobby and Bailey, I am ready for 1955!

As a youth, I was teased for wanting to be the first female wide receiver. I was teased by everyone including my elders. They convinced me to wear skirts, walk and talk like a lady, and prepare for motherhood. I appreciate Max’s mother’s ability to allow her child to be the best person that makes Max happy. Children require various optimal choices for their lives, health, and wellbeing . We must remember to love, protect, and appreciate the total child for their individuality. We must be excellent guides and instill confidence and boundaries. This story tackled generational neglect and abuse of Max’s parents; however, both parents worked to improve Max’s life even if both parents’ method had major flaws. This story is about loss, regrets, secrets, deceit, and acceptance. Wow!

Listening to Sebastian York’s narration skill is always amazing. However, pairing him with Diana Luke proved to be an excellent choice. With this pair, listening to the story concerning two head-strong lead characters was hilarious! Perhaps it is best to listen to Diana Luke and Sebastian York during daylight rather than after hours because laughing out loud inevitable. I hope to find more audiobooks narrated by Sebastian York and Diana Luke post haste! The combo made me believe in the story and made me feel as if I were in the company of excellence. Great call.😀
