Historia
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

good but no real end
Revisado: 08-30-24
liked the book for the most part. it had a good reader and interesting story but the end was a flop. felt like it ended half way through the book. I honestly was suprised when the end credits started. Just seems like a cutt off end to a story still going.

Historia
Jacob Finch Bonner was once a promising young novelist with a respectably published first book. Today, he’s teaching in a third-rate MFA program and struggling to maintain what’s left of his self-respect; he hasn’t written—let alone published—anything decent in years. When Evan Parker, his most arrogant student, announces he doesn’t need Jake’s help because the plot of his book in progress is a sure thing, Jake is prepared to dismiss the boast as typical amateur narcissism. But then...he hears the plot.

it was ok
Revisado: 09-29-23
read this off a request from several pages saying it was a thrilling novel that kept you guessing. sadly, that wasn't the case. The book is good and is read well, but I guessed the ending with 6 hrs left in the book. so about halfway through, I guessed to a T how it would end, which is disappointing. Even with that, the book itself was decent and characters well written. but if you read a lot and want something that you can't figure out the ending long before the end, this isn't the book.

Historia
Recently laid-off from his newspaper and desperate for work, war correspondent Nick Bishop takes a humbling job: writing a profile of a new mindfulness app called Clarity. It’s easy money, and a chance to return to his hometown for the first time in years. The app itself seems like a retread of old ideas — relaxing white noise and guided meditations. But then there are the “Sleep Songs.” A woman’s hauntingly beautiful voice sings a ballad that is anything but soothing — it’s disturbing, and more of a warning than a relaxation — but it works.

don't believe reviews
Revisado: 04-03-23
got this since Stephen king recommended it and was fooled. story is convoluted and doesn't make much sense. the ending does not wrap up very well. you have zero idea what's happening for over half the book and even when they start to "clear" things up they just muddy the waters more. overall not very good. the person who reads the book reads it well atleast.

Historia
Ignatius Perrish spent the night drunk and doing terrible things. He woke up the next morning with a thunderous hangover, a raging headache, and a pair of horns growing from his temples. At first Ig thought the horns were a hallucination, the product of a mind damaged by rage and grief. He had spent the last year in a lonely, private purgatory, following the death of his beloved, Merrin Williams, who was raped and murdered under inexplicable circumstances.
