Historia
In this shocking novel of a young girl alone on the streets, Donald Goines delves into yet another facet of the ghetto experience - the dark, despair-ridden world of a black girl's soul.
Sandra took to the streets when she was eight years old and tried to fight off the hunger pangs by shoplifting and moving into the profits of drug pushing. Then she met Chink, and with him she discovered love and affection...as well as rape and murder.

Historia
On a night flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing very intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that's going stale and his wife, Miranda, who he's sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start - he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit - a contrast that once inflamed their passion but has now become a cliché.

great story, barely tolerable narration
Revisado: 05-24-17
I enjoyed this story thoroughly. It was suspenseful and gripping--a great story...but these narrators were not the best fit in my opinion. The female narrators were so irritating to listen to. One of them sounds like a robot TV new anchor who loves to pronounce the silent "h" in words like "while" and "why". Very annoying. The second female narrator sounded breathy and sleepy. The first male narrator sounded too old to fit with the thirty-something character and the last male narrator was OK. This is why the book gets an overall four stars. One whole star was lost because of the pitiful casting. Better luck next time...that's what I'm telling myself...
