Absolutely horrible narration
Revisado: 05-03-24
The only reason I stuck with this is because I’m invested in the characters. But it was pure torture listening to this narrator’s unnecessary singsong voice. It’s almost as thought she’s used to reading to children. (The narrator in the first two books of this series is a different performer, but equally terrible).

Historia
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

What a ride! I enjoyed how the author developed all of the characters - you hated some and loved others! The ending had me in shock - never saw it coming!

I’m confused…
Revisado: 11-11-23
Overall the story was interesting entertaining. And I always love a happy ending. But I can’t figure out how, at the end of the story, Nick was suddenly on the ferry leaving the island? When had he arrived? Had Nick remained on the Vineyard the whole time after the whole Dennis fiasco at Harper’s house? If so why had Harper not seen him? This needs explaining.

Where is Xe?!!!
Revisado: 10-30-23
I’m only an hour into the book and I want to scream! This narrator’s nasal voice and mispronounced words IRK! Is Thing 1’s last name “Cahill” (kay-hill) emphasis on “kay”. Or am I missing something? Who pronounces that name “cah-hill”? Short “a” sound and emphasis on “hill”? The only reason I’ll continue to listen is because I love how the author develops her characters and the storyline is good!

Historia
What Jack needs is an excuse to leave town. Ever since rescuing four teenagers from a car wreck, he's been hailed as a hero and the attention is making him itchy, especially since his too-pretty ex-wife is back, angling for a reunion. He's always liked Emmaline. She needs a weekend date? No problem. So when they wind up in bed together, Em chalks it up to red wine and chocolate cake, just one impulsive night not to be repeated. But Jack's pushing for more.

Great character development
Revisado: 10-26-23
This was a truly enjoyable listen. I had to get used to the narrator’s nasally “drawl”? Sort of annoying, but I was able to get past it, because the story is so good. The characters were all people I could visualize and can even compare those people I know in real life. Looking forward to more books by this author.

Historia
Daisy McCrae's life is in tatters. She's lost her job, broken up with her boyfriend, and has been reduced to living in the attic above her family's store, the Union Street Bakery, while learning the business. Making things worse is the constant feeling of not being a "real" McCrae, since she was adopted as a child and has a less-than-perfect relationship with her two sisters. Then a long-standing elderly customer passes away, and for some reason she bequeaths to Daisy a journal dating back to the 1850s...

Well written and narrated
Revisado: 10-19-23
I left off a comment from my earlier review. In addition to not liking the Daisy character. At all. I found it interesting that the race of the character of Florence was specifically described as black. Why was that necessary? Being a nurse to Mabel didn’t have anything to do with race. None of the other characters’ race was mentioned. I’m just sayin….

Historia
It’s been almost two years since Effie’s beloved parents got divorced, destroying the image of the happy, loving childhood she thought she had. Since then, she’s become estranged from her father and embarked on a feud with his hot (and much younger) girlfriend, Krista. And now, more earth-shattering news: They’ve sold Greenoaks, the rambling Victorian country house Effie has always called home.

Historia
Amelia Rose, known as Rae Rose to her adoring fans, is burned-out from years of maintaining her “princess of pop” image. Inspired by her favorite Audrey Hepburn film, Roman Holiday, she drives off in the middle of the night for a break in Rome . . . Rome, Kentucky, that is. When Noah Walker finds Amelia on his front lawn in her broken-down car, he makes it clear he doesn’t have the time or patience for celebrity problems. He’s too busy running the pie shop his grandmother left him and reminding his nosy but lovable neighbors to mind their own damn business.

All of the characters were quirky and believable.
Great narration - except I want to tell the female narrator that the word TOUR is a one syllable word, not TOO-ER as she pronounces all throughout the book.
