Historia
Russell Walker retreats from the shock of his wife's death by becoming a hermit in the woods of British Columbia. There he finds himself thrust into a precarious role as intermediary between a telepath called Smelly, so sensitive he can't stand to be near most people, and Constable Hilda, a skeptical police officer who needs Smelly's insight to track down a monstrous serial killer.

It began so well
Revisado: 12-16-20
It began perfectly. So much interesting stuff. Interesting narration. Then it devolved into politics. And worse, into maximum self indulgence. Into what seemed like the tenth hour of description of what a Thoracotomy feels like, I just gave up. Not just because it was wildly medically inaccurate, which I know as a surgeon, but because it just made him look like a baby rather than someone “well acquainted with pain”.
Could’ve been so interesting in hands better suited to a thriller.

Historia
Innovation is the main event of the modern age, the reason we experience both dramatic improvements in our living standards and unsettling changes in our society. It is innovation that will shape the 21st century. Yet innovation remains a mysterious process, poorly understood by policy makers and businessmen alike. Matt Ridley argues that we need to see innovation as an incremental, bottom-up, fortuitous process that happens as a direct result of the human habit of exchange, rather than an orderly, top-down process developing according to a plan.

Insights through stories.
Revisado: 09-13-20
Mr Ridley has given us amazing insights into what changes the world. This is the kind of work that should be on the shelf of everyone who wants to do something new, which should be everyone.
How do we make this a compulsory reading for all in business and government bureaucracies and in academic ivory towers?
