I can imagine Levi as he penned his book.He is despised and scorned by his Jewish brothers and not fully trusted by the Romans.Yet Jesus called him to come under His wings and change the world together.
Nobody could have pulled these off except He is the expected Yeshua Hamashiach.If only my people can see what the old prophets wrote about unraveling before their eyes.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.Matthew 13:14-16

The book of Luke is a glorious gospel penned by one of the early followers of Jesus. It has been described as the loveliest book ever written giving us a very full picture of the life and ministry of Jesus. Luke applied scrupulous accuracy to all he wrote, to ensure that what we hear is factual. Being a physician, Luke learned early on the need to exhibit compassion and mercy toward others. This gospel is perhaps the most compassionate, love-filled account of the life of Jesus.
