Historia
Two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize David McCullough tells the dramatic story behind the story about the courageous brothers who taught the world how to fly: Wilbur and Orville Wright.
On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Wilbur and Orville Wright's Wright Flyer became the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot aboard. The Age of Flight had begun. How did they do it? And why?

Beautifully written and narrarated by the author. Mr McCullough writes and narrates his works in a fashion that makes you want to listen to all of his historical novels.

Historia
Bernard Cornwell, the New York Times best-selling "reigning king of historical fiction" (USA Today), tackles his most thrilling, rich, and enthralling subject yet - the heroic tale of Agincourt. The epic battle immortalized by William Shakespeare in his classic Henry V is the background for this breathtaking tale of heroism, love, devotion, and duty from the legendary author of the Richard Sharpe novels and the Saxon Tales.

An awesome historical fiction novel. A real pleasure to read(listen to) with plenty of suspense, strong character development and a good dose of history. I highly recommend this novel.

Historia
In this stirring audiobook, David McCullough tells the intensely human story of those who marched with General George Washington in the year of the Declaration of Independence, when the whole American cause was riding on their success, without which all hope for independence would have been dashed and the noble ideals of the Declaration would have amounted to little more than words on paper.

If you like American history this ia great listen!
Revisado: 09-08-05
It was a sad moment when this book ended. I enjoyed this selection more than any of the 20 other selections I have listened to. The author paints a picture of our American heros in a way that I never learned in a history class. Their strengths, their weaknesses, their ambitions, their victories, their total failures, their struggles......... The author/narrator has a very pleasing voice although he might have sped up the narration just a little bit.
If you have any interest in the characters and battles leading to the formation of the United States this is a great listen.

Historia
In this brilliant debut novel, Noah's family (or Noe, as he's called here), his wife, sons, and daughters-in-law, tell what it's like to live with a man touched by God, while struggling against events that cannot be controlled or explained. When Noe orders his sons to build an ark, he can't tell them where the wood will come from. When he sends his daughters-in-law out to gather animals, he can offer no directions, money, or protection.

Great listen.
Revisado: 07-08-05
The narration was superb. I would hire the narrators to read my morning newspaper to me!
The biblical story of the flood to end all floods was fairly closely represented with an emphasis on the personal lives and contributions of Noah and his sons and their wives to getting the ark on the float. There were some very interesting hypotheses presented as explanations for the miracles required to make the overall project work.
The only negative I found was the descriptions of various "rutting' activities by members of the family. Some were fairly graphic and not necessarily suitable for younger children. Not that rutting didn't happen in the day but the detail was a little too graphic to let me share the otherwise excellent story with my young daughter.
Get this one. It's great!
