Historia
When young Henry Thorne is kidnapped and held prisoner in a remote farmhouse surrounded by miles of forest, he finds himself connecting with a strange force living in the woods—using that bond to wreak havoc against his captors. Unknown to the boy, however, is that this ancient being has its own reasons for wanting the interlopers gone—there is something hidden beneath the house, tucked away in the dark, damp root cellar . . . waiting for its return.

Great Story
Revisado: 07-06-24
This was a case of great story, poor narration. I liked the characters, the story line, and plot. The narration on the other hand was so bad. If the other parts of the story were not as good as they were I would have returned it.

Historia
“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.

Classic King
Revisado: 06-05-24
I loved that he tied Cujo into one of these stories. I felt the closure I didn’t have after reading Cujo so many years ago. I really enjoyed all the stories in this collection. I really like how he makes you care about the characters so when he does something bad to them you feel it too.

Great story
Revisado: 05-01-24
Sometimes I didn’t care for the narrator, but the story was good and the narrator was trying to sound like an old-time detective story and he did. I just didn’t care too much for that. I would recommend this book though it’s a great story.

Better Than the Movie
Revisado: 12-04-23
Although the movie was good, the book was way better. The ending of the book was more thorough than the movie. Even if you haven’t seen the movie, I recommend the book.

It hooked me
Revisado: 08-03-23
It hooked me in the beginning but after a while I started to get annoyed with the main character. I couldn't decide if she was strong or weak. Her ending statement made me want to slap her! Had I known the ending I think I would have skipped this one.

All in All it was a Good Listen
Revisado: 06-28-23
I give the narrator the most credit because I liked the way he spoke in a way that wasn’t boring but his voice felt educational. The story started really good and strong. The end felt like it was dragging on. But all in all it’s a good listen.

Hard to take it serious
Revisado: 03-16-23
This was a disturbing story but because the narration was so bad the content was blunted and lacked emotion. I’m gonna try another of his books with a different narrator to see if it’s any better.

Historia
Art Barbara was so not cool. He was a seventeen-year-old high school loner in the late 1980s who listened to hair metal, had to wear a monstrous back-brace at night for his scoliosis, and started an extracurricular club for volunteer pallbearers at poorly attended funerals. But his new friend thought the Pallbearers Club was cool. And she brought along her Polaroid camera to take pictures of the corpses.

Sad to say I didn’t like it🫤
Revisado: 07-14-22
I really wanted to like this book. It started out good and I was so excited. But then it kept going about what I thought was A LOT of unnecessary stuff. I was hoping and thinking it was almost over but I looked and there was still over 3 hours left! The ending was good but it took forever to get there. I will still read Mr. Tremblay’s works but I may be more careful as to what I choose.

Ummm….I don’t know if I’d recommend this book
Revisado: 06-27-22
I started off really invested in the story and the characters. But, as the story dragged on and the main character got so very annoying I felt like it was a chore too keep listening. I did finish it because I’m a person who really needs closure. The ending was non climactic but the epilogue made up for the ending.
