Historia
Have you ever wondered why we Christians do what we do for church every Sunday morning? Why do we "dress up" for church? Why does the pastor preach a sermon each week? Why do we have pews, steeples, choirs, and seminaries? This volume reveals the startling truth: most of what Christians do in present-day churches is not rooted in the New Testament, but in pagan culture and rituals developed long after the death of the apostles.

Unsettlingly Inspiring.
Revisado: 10-25-24
Frank Viola and George Barna have definitely done their due diligence to scripture and church history. This is a powerful call to action and exciting!!
My only criticism would be that it hasn’t communicated to the fullest, two points. (What is the practical solution for the Body of Christ, and why are the pagan influences necessarily harmful. For example, the word Gospel and Apostle are pagan terms that Jesus utilized.)
Would love to read more of him to see if he addresses this further!

Historia
Meals have always been important across societies and cultures, a time for friends and families to come together. An important part of relationships, meals are vital to our social health. Author Tim Chester sums it up: "Food connects." Chester argues that meals are also deeply theological - an important part of Christian fellowship and mission. He observes that the book of Luke is full of stories of Jesus at meals. These accounts lay out biblical principles. Chester notes, "The meals of Jesus represent something bigger."

A beautiful invitation back to the simple Gospel
Revisado: 07-11-24
Instead of trying to come up with new systems and new discipleship programs, Chester invite us back to the simple gospel. It’s crazy what can happen when you simply sit down with someone share a meal and talk. This vision to engage with God‘s heart to feed his sheep physically and spiritually brings rest, hope and new life in a post Christian context

Historia
Every forty seconds, someone takes his or her life. Anxiety, depression, and suicide are at all-time highs—and they're stealing our sons, daughters, friends, and spouses. With tender passion and bold hope, Jacob Coyne, founder of Stay Here, infuses life into the dark corners of mental health. Giving hurting souls a reason to live, he shows not only how Jesus brings life to the full, but also how anyone—regardless of their past or pain—can find healing.

Empowering, healing and equipping!
Revisado: 01-31-24
Jacob’s words carry the life only found in the Spirit of God.
His personal testimony and powerful acknowledgement of the struggles within Gen Z regarding mental health provide an invitation to step into the mess with Jesus so we can begin to look away from our trauma and toward Him for our purpose and healing.
Coyne provides practical teaching and real life stories to validate and challenge your healing journey as well as your spiritual formation. All while remaining rooted in Scripture and the power of the Holy Spirit.
This book and ministry will lead to a suicide free generation for generations to come.
