As a 25-year fan of Perry, this was long overdue
Revisado: 05-15-23
In-depth and intimate, he reads his humor into every chapter. I had no idea where he started, and where he ended. I caught the fun “middle years” on the show Friends but never understood the struggles he went through. I received his book for Christmas and read it in a day, and now listen to it on Audible. It connects with me, and it will connect with you.
I would love to be his Bruce Willis.

Three individual stories on three amazing individuals!
I enjoyed listening to this narrator over listening to Bill. Bill has a tendency to read as a newscaster and Bill’s speech is more organic. Outstanding! I can’t wait for the next one!

I have seen some reviews that said it’s just a regurgitation of other information. However, if you’re like me, you haven’t heard this other information. So it was great! Some info I had heard before, some of it was brand new. Every Disney fan should listen to this for new information or just as a fun review. 😎👍

Universal Studios never really wanted to get into the theme park business. They wanted to be the anti-Disney. But when forced to do so, they did it in a big way. Despite the fits and starts of multiple owners, the parks have finally gained the momentum to mount a serious challenge to the Walt Disney Company. How did this happen? Who made it happen? What does this mean for the theme park industry?

The history alone is worth listening to. I liked it. It was slanted towards Universal, but still very good. Having experienced these parks in Florida it was fun to hear the backstory on rides and attractions I’ve visited. The narrator has an interesting accent and pronunciation. Takes a minute to get used to.

Historia
Often called "Accident Park", "Class Action Park", or "Traction Park", Action Park was an American icon. Entertaining more than a million people a year in the 1980s, the New Jersey-based amusement playland placed no limits on danger or fun, a monument to the anything-goes spirit of the era that left guests in control of their own adventures - sometimes with tragic results. Action Park is the first-ever unvarnished look at the history of this DIY Disneyland, as seen through the eyes of Andy Mulvihill, the son of the park's idiosyncratic founder, Gene Mulvihill.

Required listening for amusement park enthusiasts or NJ residents!

Written like a northerner speaks, and read by a guy with a slight New Yorker accent, this book is an *amazing* listen! You feel like you’re just listening to a guy talk about his life. Not only do you get a thorough look at the family responsible for the bazaar goings on at Action Park, but the author mentions current events in the late 70’s early 80’s in northern NJ. Very enjoyable. ***disclaimer: The is adult language and themes thoroughly this book, however it fits as the colloquialism of the time/place.

Historia
A mesmerizing, behind-the-scenes business thriller that chronicles how Sega, a small, scrappy gaming company led by an unlikely visionary and a team of rebels, took on the juggernaut Nintendo and revolutionized the video-game industry. In 1990, Nintendo had a virtual monopoly on the video-game industry. Sega, on the other hand, was just a faltering arcade company with big aspirations and even bigger personalities. But all that would change with the arrival of Tom Kalinske, a former Mattel executive who knew nothing about video games and everything about fighting uphill battles.

Revisado: 07-02-19
Although mainly focused on Sega and its leaders, Console Wars provides an in-depth look into the home video game industry during the 70s 80s and 90s. The narrator has great voice inflection and does perfect Japanese accents as well! If you ever spent an entire Saturday playing home video games as a child, or walked through Toys R Us or Child World looking up at the hanging cartridges dreaming of which one Santa would place on your tree skirt, you need to listen to this.
