Historia
The ugly truth is that it's not what you're doing that is holding you back. It's who you are. It's the baggage between your ears that keeps you from achieving your dreams and goals. That's why we have to change the dialogue about success. It's why we need to have an EDGY conversation. An EDGY conversation is a gut-wrenchingly honest, no-holds-barred discussion about confronting and fixing the beliefs and behaviors that limit your ability to be amazing. It tackles head-on the uncomfortable yet powerful truth that pain, fear and love - yes, love - have a huge impact on success.

Historia
June Juanico was just 17 when she met Elvis Presley in 1955. As his first serious girlfriend, she was uniquely placed at a time when he was on the cusp of superstardom. This is her memoir of the summer of 1956, which they spent together, and an insight into the genesis of a star.

Such a Innocent Love story lost to fame.
Revisado: 04-14-21
I laughed, cried, reflected on my own past. What a WONDERFUL time in BOTH their lives. She has the wisdom of an secure level headed mother to reflect back upon her youth. I wasn't emotionally prepared for how this book would touch me. I too have walked away from a young love & reflect back often. It just touched me so deep.If anything this book shows Elvis was a WONDERFUL person! Its no wonder he became what he did & that he is still so cherished even today. I think June lucked out not being swallowed up along with the fame of Elvis had she stayed. Poor Elvis didn't stand a chance. The Innocence, sheer love of life was sucked out of him by Hollywood & Tom Parker.
Elvis spent all his time taking care of EVERYONE, and NO ONE took care of him in the end.
He spent the summer of 1956 in a beach side rental with her & friends. Laying on the coast, on a blanket under the stars & full moon, he asked her to marry him. They layed there confessing their love, and he sang this song to her. She writes about it in this book and its so beautiful. She 18 & him just 20. Fame would project him so fast he could never slow down again. Somewhere out there, along the way they lost themselves.Fate would put them together & also pull them apart. Young love . Elvis didn't stand a chance in this world. It broke my heart. 😔
