Historia
The Shadowmen still swarm over the Four Lands, poisoning everything with their dark magic. And their leader is determined to destroy all the Scions of Shannara. For Walker Boh, he dispatches the Four Horsemen. For Wren, he sends an untrue friend. And for Par, he devises the most terrible fate of all. With these traps cleverly laid, the charges given by the shade of the Druid Allanon are doomed to failure - unless Par can discover a way to harness the power of the Sword of Shannara.

A capstone to one era of many in a classic series
Revisado: 11-11-23
A capstone to one era of many in a classic series. l remember finishing this series in the early 90's and desperately wanting more. It was a long wait, but worth it. And all these years later, I loved re-listening on Audible. Nice work John Lee.

Seems to be very knowledgeable of scripture...
Revisado: 09-03-23
Brother, you seem to be very knowledgeable regarding scripture... And thank you for sharing your studies. I encourage you to continue your teaching and studying of the scriptures.
You do speak of the Sabbath a lot. That leads me to believe you must be a seventh day Sabbath keeper. I request that you share a study on the true Sabbath and its importance to our Father. True Christians of this world fail to recognize the true Sabbath. The Catholic church clearly states that it had the authority to change the day of the true Sabbath to Sunday. That is an absolute and direct defiance of God's word and authority.
It's the first commandment following Creation. It's not only one of the Ten Commandments, it's also the longest and most defined. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. It seems Christ our Lord and Saviour is reemphasizing it's importance and it being a Holy Gift to man.
It's interesting that Billy Graham believed in the seventh day Sabbath, but was afraid of losing followers if he preached it. I pray that you don't follow his example.
With love, your brother in Christ,
Scott

I hope this series continues. Very enjoyable.
Revisado: 06-09-23
I really like the Tom Marlowe character. He seems more real than a lot of other characters of this type. He isn't perfect but seems to have a decent moral compass.
The fight scenes are well described to help visualize what is happening. The dialog feels genuine and the plot is well thought out. It's exciting to try to figure out how he could possibly get out of and survive one challenging situation after another. This and the first book of this series are enjoyable and were well worth the purchase price.
The performer does justice to the characters regardless of shifting accents and voices. Each character can be recognized individually by their own voice.
Altogether an enjoyable start to a series that I hope continues and follows this character and others as they grow, learn, and work together (or against one another) as the situation inevitably or unexpectedly changes direction.

PRE-DICT-A-BLE
Revisado: 05-17-23
Lots of "pulse-pounding" (cliché - like the story) action and plenty of horror to go around. But, for pity's sake, if a story ends on a high point, that does not mean it is predictable. Buuuut, this IS the "Alien's" universe, so what do you expect. They can't break the mold. Otherwise, it wouldn't be the "Alien's" universe, would it? Kudos to Mr. Taylorson. Well performed (except for the girly screamy voice - that is... difficult, I'm sure.)

Historia
Like many well-to-do Upper East Siders over the age of 65, esteemed art appraiser Percival Skinner had planned to spend his retirement living off his savings. But a market correction has left him living below his prior means. One day he’s visited by a dapper fixer in search of a famous work by a Renaissance master. Skinner knows the work well: The original was owned by his ancestor, and was passed down through his family over the generations. If, as an intermediary, he can coordinate a sale, a small fortune awaits. Problem is, he might not be the only one on the make.

Revisado: 12-20-21
John Lithgow once again proves his mastery as an actor and orator. Such an engaging performance with unique vocalizations for all characters in the story. And the story itself was so engaging throughout that I couldn't stop listening until the end. An ending that left me with a huge smile and a good feeling inside. Bravo!

United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.

Tragic. Thought provoking. A case of real life being stranger than fiction. This story needed to be told and would be perfect as a mini-series for broadcast. Well told and well read.
