Monster + Man Sweet Christmas Story

Have read it in ebook, and this adds even more to it.

A monster holiday story (though doesn't need a holiday mindset to read). It contains genre appropriate violence, and wide open door for what happens in a bedroom.

Both characters I already liked, but did not imagine Oli voice much while reading. Listening to Lance West voice him was very much something else to elevate his character.

Draw was it's a mm fantasy. I should love this.

Except it's insta-love with no personalities behind any character. And barely any agency. They don't do things. Things just happen to them and they react.

It's almost as if Alderson created an entire book emulating a passive sentence.

Returned.

Terrible writing that takes forever for anything to happen. It also assumes you've read the series that was written before it. Barely any character descriptions so I couldn't picture anyone.

Premise good, but can't stand even 40 miutes.

Hey all, the book might get better, but I listened to about 40 minutes and met the main character, the fiancé, the best friend , the sister of the fiancé (who is deaf or hard of hearing,, too). MC kept complaining that he couldn't hear or communicate with anyone because of all the noise. Yet he's been losing his hearing for years.

Nobody thought to pick up any sort of signing. Like at all? Including the deaf/ hard of hearing SISTER IN LAW, THE FIANCE, OR THE BEST FRIEND.???

OR THE MAIN CHARACTER????

Everyone acts like being deaf or hard of hearing is akin to a death sentence. While it can be a very traumatic experience, everyone has been wallowing in it for years. (For the record I didn't even get to how the sis in law became deaf/ hard of hearing).

And it's also a pretty norm thing for so many people where it's just their life. Really felt like ableism.

I had to return this.

As always I love Joel Leslie, but even he couldn't save this train wreak.

Good, but a heads up...

It's a good short story that serves as a prequel for the San Andreas Shifters series with Alex and Marvin.

BUT there are a huge amount of sound effects and background noises and music and voice tuning including screams that can be annoying, startling, and overshadow the vocal performance.

The audio is so, so bad.

No, I will never get another one of his productions.

Any additional comments?

I cannot stress how bad the audio is. Both performance wise, and production issues. It's so choppy, audio leveling, sounds like an echo sometimes, and sometimes there's one-word edits that are so jarring.
