Loved loved loved this book!

To be honest, I was under the impression that Bill Shatner was kind of a jerk. Don’t know why I thought this. Lol. Heard him talk about this book on CNN and sounded so upbeat I had to get the book. I loved this book (and along with that, Shatner as well!) The book is beautifully written and so utterly joyful and enthusiastic I couldn’t stop listening. I laughed out loud, cried thru chapter 2 and so thoroughly enjoyed it all that I will return from time to time simply for inspiration. It’s like you’re having a conversation with him. And Bill…. I adore your sense of humor, amazing curiosity and overwhelming joy! Great book!

So weird… not sure how I feel about this book. I loved it, but…. I don’t know. Maybe that’s what he was going for. Not a typical King book story-wise. His incredible prose is there, but… I don’t know. Loved the narrator’s voice. Loved all the characters, especially Billy. Loved the story, but… I don’t know. Weird, right?

An audio book is generally only as good as it’s reader. But this…. Incredible story (as always) enhanced by the amazing Seth Numrich whose voice made the words even more compelling. The worst part of the book? When it was done. Excellent listen!

The narrator did a good job - great voice, very listenable. The story? Meh. Too convoluted, too “philosophical”, too... I don’t know. I tried really hard to like it, hoping for something more, but it never came. So many things unresolved for me. Sorry.

To me, the reader is nearly as important as the story itself - and both fail. I just couldn’t spark an interest. The reader was annoying. At times (many times) the reader sounded robotic, like Siri. Or bad editing. Soooo annoying. I found myself listening more for that than trying to listen to the story. Bad experience all the way around.

Love the story - hate the reader

I read this book more times than I can count and love it. Thought I’d try it on Audible for fun. The reader is simply hideous. Her voice, inflection, everything about her tone ruined the entire story. She’s so annoying I had to stop listening a third of the way through. She sucks. Sorry.
