Wonderful story!
Revisado: 02-29-24
The story was so interesting, you felt yourself going deeper into the lives of the characters. The level of historical knowledge and research was impressive and after spot checking a few items I never questioned it again. Wonderful, captivating, well crafted writing. Ms King doesn’t get overly verbose or dramatic and I so admire that. Very much looking forward to her next novel.

Wonderful!
Revisado: 12-31-23
Ms Davis is one of the best historical fiction writers around. Her style is clear, entertaining and informative. She’s never overly verbose and develops her characters in such interesting ways. Both the Falco & Flavia Alba series are great reads and for anyone who’s interested in Ancient Rome they are essential reads.

Outstanding historical fiction

The was truly a wonderful work. Accurate where it could be and believable in between. I was especially happy to see the Janissary component as this significant role is rarely brought forward. Un capolavoro per certo. Bravissima…..
