Historia
As the final showdown between the New Republic and the Empire draws near, all eyes turn to a once-isolated planet: Jakku. The Battle of Endor shattered the Empire, scattering its remaining forces across the galaxy. But the months following the Rebellion’s victory have not been easy. The fledgling New Republic has suffered a devastating attack from the Imperial remnant, forcing the new democracy to escalate its hunt for the hidden enemy.

Just not Star Wars...
Revisado: 01-22-19
Overall the story was too political with mostly forgettable characters. The only one memorable was the repurposed B1 Battle droid, Mr. Bones. I didn’t find myself caring about the others like I typically would in Star Wars lore. Gay characters and references only seem to be there to meet a diversity quota and non-standard gender pronouns just add to the confusion.
The performance, sound effects and music were great, as usual, but those are the only parts that really made me feel like this was the Star Wars universe.

Jumbled and mostly forgettable
Revisado: 01-01-19
As much as I’d love to love the new novel it just doesn’t catch my imagination. The characters are mostly forgettable and the old favorites feel unlike themselves. The only memorable and unique character is the modified battle droid, Mr. Bones, who doesn’t get enough time in the story to help. Sexual references are thrown in to make it edgier and unnecessary LGBT characters are thrown in for no other apparent reason than to meet a diversity requirement. Both of which just distract from the story.
The performance, music and audio effects were great, as usual, but the story just wasn’t that enjoyable.

A cheap way to make an audiobook...
Revisado: 09-11-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
This book is a compilation of articles taken from Runner's World magazine. The good thing is that there is a lot of good information contained in all of the articles that are read. The downside, though, is that it lacks a cohesive nature. As you would expect, articles written by different authors contain different content and are relaying that author's particular style/method/best practices. Unfortunately, these do not always mesh with one another (conflicts across articles) and when they do, you listen to the same content repeatedly (repetition across articles). I was hoping for a good detailed immersion into running. That detail is definitely there, but you have to pick it out from the repetition and conflicts.

Historia
Han Solo should be basking in his moment of glory. After all, the cocky smuggler and captain of the Millennium Falcon just played a key role in the daring raid that destroyed the Death Star and landed the first serious blow to the Empire in its war against the Rebel Alliance. But after losing the reward his heroics earned him, Han's got nothing to celebrate. Especially since he's deep in debt to the ruthless crime lord Jabba the Hutt. There's a bounty on Han's head - and if he can't cough up the credits, he'll surely pay with his hide. The only thing that can save him is a king's ransom. Or maybe a gangster's fortune?

A great listen in the classic Star Wars style
Revisado: 02-11-13
What made the experience of listening to Scoundrels: Star Wars the most enjoyable?
The scoundrels always seem to be jumping from one scheme to another, barely keeping up with costs and ahead of the law. A once in a lifetime opportunity for a score causes Han and Chewie to pull together the best of the worst they can find to pull it off. The group has to break into an impenetrable fortress and get out with their lives and the loot! Things go right and things go awry, so they've got to play it loose. Twists and turns abound with a well known helment sneaking in at the end.
A great listen!

Good stories, but not by Arthur Conan Doyle
Revisado: 08-05-09
I am a Sherlock Holmes fan and enjoyed the uniqueness of the 6 mysteries included in this collection. While most of the original Arthur Conan Doyle stories keep me wondering right to the end, these seemed to be a bit easier to figure out before the final "reveal", though.
I would recommend the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories first, also available through Audible. Don't be misled as I was, though. There has been an error and the author is listed as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but it is not. These are not any of the original 56 short stories. They are based on the characters by ACD, but the stories are actually written by someone else.
Enjoy, but be aware...
