Historia
One of the most significant books ever written by a head of state, the Meditations are a collection of philosophical thoughts by the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (121 - 180 ce). Covering issues such as duty, forgiveness, brotherhood, strength in adversity and the best way to approach life and death, the Meditations have inspired thinkers, poets and politicians since their first publication more than 500 years ago. Today, the book stands as one of the great guides and companions - a cornerstone of Western thought.

wisdom
Revisado: 02-01-20
hard to believe such thoughts have existed in a man at any point in time. I hope to be better in my own mind now that I have heard this book

Historia
Why have history's greatest minds - from George Washington to Frederick the Great to Ralph Waldo Emerson along with today's top performers, from Super Bowl-winning football coaches to CEOs and celebrities - embraced the wisdom of the ancient Stoics? Because they realize that the most valuable wisdom is timeless and that philosophy is for living a better life, not a classroom exercise. The Daily Stoic offers a daily devotional of Stoic insights and exercises, featuring all-new translations.

Revisado: 01-31-20
I'm not stoic enough to have the patience to wait a full year to hear this book. I'm glad I found it and binge listened every chance i got. i will add this to my library to listen to a passage a day when i have a credit available. until then i will keep seeking wisdom elsewhere

Historia
In Indistractable, Eyal reveals the hidden psychology driving us to distraction. He describes why solving the problem is not as simple as swearing off our devices: Abstinence is impractical and often makes us want more. Eyal lays bare the secret of finally doing what you say you will do with a four-step, research-backed model. Indistractable reveals the key to getting the best out of technology, without letting it get the best of us.

usable content
Revisado: 01-23-20
There is good information in this book. The author clearly comes from a drastically different background than myself (I work construction) yet there was enough good usable information for me to keep listening. I have new ideas and outlooks now. My biggest criticism is how you can tell the break points from when he read/recorded sections of the book. Very noticeable and, oddly enough, distracting...

Historia
Stone Barrington seems to have a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. When Manhattan’s elite are beset by a series of clever crimes - and Stone is a material witness - he and his former partner Dino Bacchetti find themselves drawn into the world of high-end security and fraud, where insider knowledge and access are limited to a privileged few, and the wealthy are made vulnerable by the very systems meant to keep them safe.

the last tolerable barrington series book
Revisado: 01-14-20
stuart leaned way too far to the left for me to be interested in his books anymore. I read all of the series up to this point years ago and was excited to pick up where I left off... pretty disappointed with how political he became and from what I see from reviews of future books in the series it only gets worse...
