If you could sum up Mail-Order Brides of the West in three words, what would they be?

Historical. Addicting. Sweet.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mail-Order Brides of the West?

I loved the interchange between Mrs. Seymour and Trudy. I loved the way the author put such realism into her story. I understand now what young women faced back then and what their concerns were.

What about Lara Asmundson’s performance did you like?

Her voice is lilting, light. Perfect reader for this genre.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You'll want more of these characters!

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to find out more about the other characters. Also, I appreciate an adventurous romance that is clean.

Where does Reaper of Dreams rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This series is so great. I'm so glad I found this author.

What other book might you compare Reaper of Dreams to and why?

Like the Sword of Truth series, Holland's worlds and characters seem so real. They are not over-written, yet they have depth, are creative, and (best of all) are memorable.

What about Noah Michael Levine’s performance did you like?

I can't believe a man can do all the voices so well. I hear a little girl speaking and I hear an old man speaking but it is all through Noah Michael Levine. He can do gruff and rough equally well with refined ladies or scared little girls. How does he do that? How does he get the emotions of a young woman (SPOILER ALERT) who has gone through rape just right? How does he know how to perform a scared, little girl (say 7 or 8 years old)?

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I usually have a hard time picturing the steps and movements of individual characters during fight scenes. With this book, I could see the fight scenes really clearly. So, this time, I enjoyed each of the battle scenes. At the end (I'm trying not to give anything away), I loved how one of the main characters (the king) deals with a fallen comrade.

Any additional comments?

The way Debra Holland handles such delicate themes really moves me. She writes authentically about subjects that society may find hard to read about (such as rape). She writes in a manner that does not over pull at the emotional heart strings. I feel she writes in a way that does not seek to lead the reader to have a particular response. Rather, she writes simply and beautifully about these subjects and allows me, the reader, to have my own authentic emotional experience.

Would you consider the audio edition of Sower of Dreams to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but loved the narrator for Sower of Dreams :)

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sower of Dreams?

This is a hard question to answer because many scenes were memorable and I don't want to give anything away for someone who hasn't read or listened to the book. So, spoiler alert ahead: One of the most memorable scenes was when the hero finds and rescues the monkey bats. I loved the new words given for the pits (especially as a Star Trek fan myself).

What about Noah Michael Levine’s performance did you like?

I like how real all the character sounded. How does a male do deep male voices and little girl voices so well? Training?

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried at times.

Any additional comments?

Here's a review I posted on Amazon and I am new to reading books through kindle and Audiobooks and Amazon so I don't have many reviews on there. I am very happy I was introduced to this author :)First, a genuine compliment to the author: The worlds intrigue me as much as Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth . In over a decade, I have not been pulled in so craftily! Holland writes her worlds and settings with fascinating detail, yet never with too much detail. In other words, I was never bored and felt like I was IN the story. The characters are real and layered. The action well-written. The story-line extremely creative.Second, I can't wait to listen to the second book.Third, a mention about the narrator, Noah Michael Levine. How do you, Mr. Levine, narrate women's and children's voices so well? I clearly saw each character's facial expressions and body posture because of your narration. Also, I was very impressed that you made the voice of the main character's brother sound so close to her voice but completely male instead of female. In other words, you perfectly portrayed how I expect siblings’ voices to match without being identical. From the child's voice to the accented foreigner's voice, I'm impressed by your work!Did I say I can't wait to purchase the second one? I can't imagine driving now without Mr. Levine's voice in my ear! And, it’s obvious why Holland is a best seller.
