Certainly NOT a romance!
Revisado: 05-24-13
This ends up being a very interesting story with historical elements, questionable time travel, and a kiss or two. So for me that did not meet my expectations as far as a romance. The time travel aspect is cool but the explanation is weird and it seems it would have just been better to be vague. Not to mention, when Eva does go back in time and meets Daniel, he instantly believes that she has traveled through time with no questions asked and then proceeds to have no questions at all about the future. Seems rather unlikely to me. They develop a relationship and that's fine but certainly not passionate by any standard. Not that I expect all romance novels to be scandalous! I just have a different expectation when it is labeled as such! I was an okay story but I found myself arguing with all the details until the end.

New favorite male narrator!
Revisado: 04-23-13
Excellent narration and great stories. Each story had different elements and were unique. I wish that they were all books in a series and were much longer because I didn't want them to end! Great character development despite being so short.

Slow but it gets better.
Revisado: 04-23-13
The narrator is definitely trying too hard to sound like a young adult. She also had a particularly strange way of pronouncing forest or forehead so that they sounded like faaarrest and faaarehead, which were words that were used quite often. So that was annoying. Sarah Drew would have been a much better fit.
As far as the story goes it starts off well and keeps your interest and then gets a little slow but if you stick with it, it recaptures your interest in the end and you immediately want to download the next book.

Revisado: 04-02-13
The story definitely has plenty of action and heart racing moments. The romance between the characters is sweet. I love Susan Duerden! She does a great job with both the male and female characters.

Fun story, not so great narration.
Revisado: 04-02-13
The story is good and exciting but the narrator seemed to be rushing to speak. It was hurried and made me feel like I needed to take a breath just from listening! The accents were bad, I certainly have heard worse! If you can get past the narration its good.

Great Story! Questionable Narrator!
Revisado: 03-01-13
I really liked everything about the story and characters. I wanted to like this narrator and give him a chance but it was atrocious. Poor fella. That in no way was a Scots accent and his girl voice was frightfully laughable. He also spoke very quickly and mumbled quite a bit. I had my headphones on the highest they could go and missed several things he said. Otherwise if you can ignore that its great! He gets two stars just because I felt bad for him!

It was kind of weird to get over the fact he used to be her gaurdian. I know the age difference isn't that big of a deal but it would have been better if he was just slightly younger. Ha! At least from a young girls perspective!

OMG. So so good!
Revisado: 01-11-13
I really think that Diana Gabaldon wants to crush all the hopes and dreams of her readers/listeners. That being said, she makes you fall in love with every single character and she subjects them (and subsequently you too) to any and everything. You can never predict what will happen. This book is so good! First, you are laughing out loud the next you are crying your face off. I definitely got sucked in and was way too invested. I had to stop listening at one point because I was too scared of what was going to happen to my characters!
Davina Porter is so amazing! She is one of my very favorites! Every accent/dialect/language she performs is perfect. I wish she would just narrate everything!!!

Surprisingly good!
Revisado: 01-11-13
This book had a really slow start! It took at least 2.5 hours for things to pick up but when they did I seriously couldn't put it down. I bought it on a whim because it was on sale and it's not normally my style but it was so good I think I will be willing to broaden my horizons! I was constantly trying to figure it out and honestly was puzzled until the end! Great listen!
