Historia
In 1804, John Colter set out with Meriwether Lewis and William Clark on the first US expedition to traverse the North American continent. During the 28-month ordeal, Colter served as a hunter and scout, and honed his survival skills on the western frontier. But when the journey was over, Colter stayed behind. He spent two more years trekking alone through dangerous and unfamiliar territory, charting some of the West's most treasured landmarks.

Revisado: 12-30-24
I am an avid mountain man, long hunter, fur trapper junkie and I don't want rehab. This books was an incredible source of information, the narrator is excellent, the chapters are exquisite and each lends to a better understanding

Historia
Prolific writer James Lincoln Collier collaborates with his brother, Christopher, a distinguished historian, and the Revolutionary War comes alive in this contemporary classic for young adults. Here is a war with no clear-cut loyalties - dividing families, friends, and towns. Young Tim Meeker watches his 16-year-old brother, Sam, go off to fight with the Patriots while his father remains a reluctant British Loyalist in the Tory town of Redding Ridge, Connecticut.

The Sound Quality!!
Revisado: 02-24-24
the sound quality is TERRIBLE. I bought this wanting to reread some of my childhood books (Johnny Tremaine was another and the previous) and I expected a kid's book type read but I didn't expect this POOR QUALITY.
The sound is completely muffled and hollow, almost like listening to someone talking through a pillow and a door.

Historia
Loaded: A Disarming History of the Second Amendment is a deeply researched - and deeply disturbing - history of guns and gun laws in the United States, from the original colonization of the country to the present. As historian and educator Dunbar-Ortiz explains, in order to understand the current obstacles to gun control, we must understand the history of US guns, from their role in the "settling of America" and the early formation of the new nation, and continuing up to the present.

Half-assed revisionism at it's finest
Revisado: 04-04-22
This book reads more like propaganda than history. I have no qualms with facts, ugly as they may be. Important facts are left out in order to support a narrative: racism. The entire book's thesis is about trying make the Second Amendment about racism and those that support it as racists completely ignoring the facts that black men and women also own guns and exercise their second amendment rights given by Nature, or God. Historia
Empire of the Summer Moon spans two astonishing stories. The first traces the rise and fall of the Comanches, the most powerful Indian tribe in American history. The second entails one of the most remarkable narratives ever to come out of the Old West: the epic saga of the pioneer woman Cynthia Ann Parker and her mixed-blood son, Quanah, who became the last and greatest chief of the Comanches.

Amazing Book!
Revisado: 03-05-21
LOVED IT! More than just the story of Quanah and Cynthia Ann, this is a jaw dropping story of Texas and the Western Plains and America.
