Fantastic narration by Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal is an excellent actor, known for immersing himself in his roles, but I wasn’t sure what to expect of his narration. He nailed it! His performance embodied the characters so well and changed as the mood shifted throughout the book. He had clearly done his homework, with his reading demonstrating an understanding of the story and the characters. I had never been a huge fan of The Great Gatsby but Jake Gyllenhaal made it a total treat. Definitely check it out for yourself.

Seth hit it out of the park with this new podcast. He's a really good interviewer, super friendly and genuinely interested in the conversation. The production quality is excellent, with fun effects that draw the listener in, and the storytelling makes it memorable. Oh, and it's funny! Great listen.

Dave Grohl is a rock legend and truly is the best storyteller. He’s lived an amazing life and I loved hearing about it. His narration was SO GOOD! 10+ hours may seem like a long time to listen to one person talk about their life but the minutes flew by and I found myself wishing there were more chapters. So glad Dave shared his incredible stories. Loved them and love him.

I've heard countless Dave Grohl interviews and this is still one of the best. Terry Gross focused a lot on Nirvana and Dave shared some funny and heartfelt stories. If you like Dave Grohl, you'll love this Fresh Air episode.

I didn't know much about Colin Jost before listening to this book. He's clearly a smart guy and a good writer. His stories were relatable and funny, but I didn't necessarily laugh out loud. The best parts were the behind-the-scenes stories about SNL, which was my main reason for getting the book. Fun read.

Relatable and sweet

As the mom of two teenage musicians (each of whom have their own band), I can relate to a lot of the stories in this book. Virginia did incredibly in-depth and heartfelt interviews with each of the moms. This project was obviously a labor of love and I'm so glad she wrote it. Thank you, Virginia! Looking forward to a sequel.

Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.
