For some reason this story took me forever to “get into” but enjoyed it once I did. I liked hearing about this time period in our country.

An uncomfortable great book
Revisado: 03-14-25
This book was wonderful, informative, uncomfortable, historical, and all around enjoyable. It’s important to keep our history alive. The performance was the best part about this book. All the characters and accents were well done.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and liked how it differed from the first in this series. It’s so realistic that it seems I’m reading a true story. Love the detail. Any gun aficionado will love it.

Strength in Misery
Revisado: 09-13-24
This is a well written and performed story of a little girl surviving the Holocaust. Her parents, especially her mother, were incredibly strong, intelligent people who saved the author’s life in many close encounters. Tova is an example of strength and resilience to us all. Enjoyed this perspective of this piece of history.

Enlightening and thought provoking
Revisado: 02-28-24
Informative about a group of society not discussed, those in the foster system. The impact of having two parents (a mother and father) raise a child is imperative to a child’s overall wellbeing and Rob is not afraid to write about it. I appreciate his honesty and analysis, especially since he is a byproduct of the system.

Waiting for something to happen
Revisado: 01-12-24
I felt that I was waiting for the climax that word never come. I think the title is incorrect for this book. And Meryl Streep did a good job of switching voices for her characters but overdramatized the story.

I enjoy each book with their wonderful characters that become your friends and the vivid storyline that you think of constantly. I will take a break from Follett but it won’t be for long. I am delighted that there are so many more books of his to enjoy.
