Historia
Throughout history, women have played integral roles in family, society, religion, government, war - in short, in all aspects of human civilization. Their contributions have often shaped history and shifted the axis of power for later generations of women. And yet, unearthing their stories from the historical record has often been a challenge. In Powerful Women of the Medieval World, Professor Dorsey Armstrong will introduce you to 10 amazing women who played vital roles in the Middle Ages.

Very good! I wish I would have began listening to the Great Courses sooner.

Both informative and wonderfully delivered
Revisado: 05-03-25
When I picked up the book, I was worried that it would be a dry read, In fact, the stories of these extraordinary women were brought to life in a wonderful way - informative, vivid and entertaining at the same time.
I will definitely listen to more lectures from Dr, Armstrong

Historia
Procrastination is an almost universal human experience. While many people attribute procrastination to laziness or a lack of drive, our real motivations to push back and delay important activities and decisions are more complicated than personal weakness. The truth is that humans are well-adapted for basic survival, but they are not so great at managing the stresses and expectations of modern life without a little help.

Historia
Sutton Spencer's ideas for her life were fairly simple: finish graduate school and fall in love. It would be a lot simpler if she could pinpoint exactly what she should do when she graduates in less than a year. Oh, and if she could figure out how to talk to a woman without feeling like a total mess, that would be great, too. Charlotte Thompson is very much the opposite.

A great book...for those who can wait
Revisado: 03-25-24
It is a long book and starts slow, but if you give it a chance and wait to get into the story, it becomes very good as it progresses. I was invested in the characters and truly enjoyed their story. Lori Prince did a very good job with narration.

As the sole heir to her family’s banking empire, a lot is expected of Madison Prescott. Falling in love with her childhood friend Ana Perez was not in the cards. Over my dead body.” By the time George Prescott dies, it’s been 15 years since Madison and Ana were ripped apart by his lies. They haven’t spoken since, but Madison has spent every minute waiting for this day to come. Unfortunately, it turns out time doesn’t heal all wounds.

A nice one
Revisado: 05-12-20
I enjoyed the book quite a lot. It was engaging from start to finish. The dynamics between the main characters were believable and I cared what would happen to them. Also I liked the fact that there were morally grey characters. Too often we get the good ones, the bad ones and nothing in between.
