Historia
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.

An honest account of how the most significant decisions impacting our lives are made, not by the dark backroom stabbing and plotting of some degenerated capitalists but by the hard work and the best intentions of true public servants of this great nation. What an inspiring tale of love, determination, discipline, and an unyielding quest for the betterment of life for others. She must be given the highest medal of honor, for she has done what is humanly possible to make a difference in the lives of others— a true heroine.

Historia
In this audiobook, Dr. Taher relates the journey of his transformation—how even as a physician who knew better, he led an unhealthy lifestyle, how he ignored the warnings of his heart disease and other chronic ailments, and how after his bypass surgery he set out to radically change his life to heal his body and his spirit. Training for and competing in his first half-marathon was only the start. In compelling detail, he recounts his running in the Chicago, Boston, and Mumbai Marathons, his pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, and his first triathlon...

Enlightening
Revisado: 03-26-24
This is a splendid account of a cardiologist's transformation after his open-heart surgery. It is a message of health and healing from a medical doctor who, late in life, attains the wisdom of spiritual and medical healing. A journey from the bloody operating table to becoming a marathon runner, mountain climber, and the kindest husband, father, and grandfather. I went through quintuple open heart surgery at the age of 61 and discovered the six pillars of reversing heart ailment from Dr. Taher's book. Thank you, kind doctor.

Historia
When a young screenwriter goes online to check out the promotional website for a new poker movie called Rounders, he's shocked to discover how similar it is to a screenplay he wrote a few years earlier. Against all odds, he proceeds to take on Miramax and the Hollywood system with the help of an ingenious lawyer. Jeffrey Grosso simply has to prove how it could have happened and convince a judicial system that often favors studios over writers that he's a victim of intellectual property theft, which results in a ten-year landmark legal battle against Hollywood's most notorious studio.
