Historia
When The Sandman, also known as Lord Morpheus - the immortal king of dreams, stories and the imagination - is pulled from his realm and imprisoned on Earth by a nefarious cult, he languishes for decades before finally escaping. Once free, he must retrieve the three “tools” that will restore his power and help him to rebuild his dominion, which has deteriorated in his absence.

Lived up to my hopes
Revisado: 11-27-20
I'm a huge Sandman/Gaiman fan, and I wasn't sure how the comics would translate to an audio book format, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's like listening to an old-time radio show of the comic, and they scripted just enough to keep you present. A little of the dialog was changed, if you're die-hard that might throw you from time to time.

Historia
Every year, millions of withdrawn little girls and chronically overwhelmed women go undiagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder because they don't fit the stereotypical profile: they're not fast-talking, hyperactive, or inattentive, and they are not male. Sari Solden's groundbreaking study reveals that ADHD affects just as many women as men, and that the resulting depression, disorganization, anxiety, and underachievement are also symptoms of ADHD. Newly revised and updated to reflect the latest clinical research, the book explores treatment and counseling options and more.

Some Good Info, Monotonous Narrator
Revisado: 11-15-20
The information in this book is useful, if not a little focused on the ide that a woman's will only be about her role as a homemmaker, wife, and mother. The little focus on work is based on the idea that women have expendable jobs for which quitting is a perfectly reasonable solution.
My specific issue with the audio book is that the narration is flat and momentous. I listen to a few audio books a month, mostly on psychological/neurological issues, but I could hardly focus on this one because of this.

Historia
The causes of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder range from severe neglect to monstrous abuse. Many survivors grew up in houses that were not homes-in families that were as loveless as orphanages and sometimes as dangerous. If you felt unwanted, unliked, rejected, hated, and/or despised for a lengthy portion of your childhood, trauma may be deeply engrained in your mind, soul, and body. This book is a practical guide to recovering from lingering childhood trauma. It is copiously illustrated with examples of the author's and his clients' journeys of recovering.

An Important Work on Childhood Trauma
Revisado: 11-13-19
Pete Walker is able to put into words the impact of decades of emotional, psychological, physical, and/or sexual trauma in a way that connects with survivors more strongly than I have seen before. This book has been life changing to everyone I know who has read who grew up with emotional neglect. I have now both listened to the audiobook and read the hardcopy, and both were powerful experiences for me personally. The book was able to help me understand more about what parts of me are trauma, and what parts of me are me.

Historia
For most of her life (and even during her years as the host of a popular radio show), Courtenay Hameister lived in a state of near-constant dread and anxiety. She fretted about everything. Her age. Her size. Her romantic prospects. How likely it was that she would get hit by a bus on the way home. Until a couple years ago, when, in her mid-forties, she decided to fight back against her debilitating anxieties by spending a year doing little things that scared her - things that the average person might consider doing for a half second before deciding: "nope."
