Potentially Life-Changing
Revisado: 07-10-22
For me, the book provides more evidence than I've already seen since I began believing in reincarnation when I was around 6 years old. I am not sure where the thought came from but I questioned the nuns during religion class in Catholic School. Even though the concept isn't new to me, it is a refreshing reminder of the freedom we have to choose our reactions and our consequences. Of course, the choices are easier for some than for others, but the book may help someone trying to make sense of their world. To some, it might just be entertaining. Regardless, this book may actually have something for everyone.

Experienced Amazing Changes
Revisado: 06-01-22
Great narration, with correct pronunciation and voice inflections (Yay! There seem to be more and more people posing as professional narrators), and a complex topic made easy to understand propelled me through the book the first time.
Now, I'm at the tail end of the most difficult period of my life -- maybe more like a new beginning -- at 61. I'm not alone with what I have to deal with but it's not common and it's very difficult.
I've been plagued with anguish, anxiety, sorrow and depression. Even after starting therapy, I wasn't having much success job hunting. Then I bought "The Untethered Soul."
Naturally, my procrastination put the book off until bedtime. The first night, I cognitively heard the first two chapters and fell asleep during the third.
The next day I was amazed at myself. I didn't get a lot done (I was overwhelmed) but there'd been a shift in my attitude to where I truly cared enough to have at least SOME motivation.
The rest of the book was read in much the same fashion ... a chapter or two cognitively, then a few chapters subconsciously in my sleep.
While I'm not functioning at 100% yet, it's been at least a decade since I've felt this good. I've not been able to afford my therapist for at least a month, so I have nothing to credit except for the book's powerful and insightful message that helped to facilitate a closer connection with God (by any name).
I started recommending this book to friends shortly after beginning to read it. I'm about to begin my second time and, as long as I'm feeling more and more lifted, will continue reading it again and again -- and recommending it!

When you first think of the term psychopath, the first thing that comes to mind for most people is the insane, insatiable serial killer. We expect the appearance of such a depraved individual to reflect the madness without. This couldn't be more wrong.

Difficult to Follow as Spoken
Revisado: 05-14-22
I'm not sure I can listen to the last 25 mins. While the narrator uses good diction and has a pleasant voice I would bet that he retained very little of what he read. It sounded like a cold reading (first run through), the annunciation or exaggeration/focus on the correct words was off, prepositional phrases were seemingly split with periods and the narrator should have looked up the pronunciation of facade and anesthetist. With such a great voice and diction, it's really a shame that it's not spoken more conversationally and with a little focus on the content of what he is reading.

Lewis provides insightful interviews with fascinating guests and brilliant questions (and vice-versa). Amazing content. I used to see the length first and think, "There is no way I will listen to the whole thing." I know better now! Time flies while listening to Lewis' podcasts.

I have started many audible books and bounce between them. I listen to this one all the way through and finally understand Trump's fascination with Putin.

While being an empath is an asset, it comes at a great cost. For some people, refusing to do something is a real challenge because they try to make others happy no matter what. As a result, they feel disappointed, sad, and depressed. They are always full of anxiety, fatigue, and stress. If you are one of those who struggle to cope with anxiety and stress and say no to others, then you’re an empath.

GREAT content ...
Revisado: 02-19-21
... delivered poorly. The narrator doesn't sound like a reader. His smooth voice is largely overshadowed by abrupt stops and starts in the middle of sentences and becomes grating. I expected to be through it in one evening but found I had to take it in doses.
