Historia
My magic burns inside me...Not all soulmates are created equal. Some of them are relieved to find each other. Some build a relationship nice and slow. And for some of them it’s that all consuming, love-at-first-sight kind of magic, like my twin sister Tegan and her other half, Tennessee. Then there are some where the girl is so up in her head and freaked the hell out that she actually, sorta, kinda, resents the guy who’s supposed to bring her happiness simply for his mere existence. Aka Me.

Final book of series one
Revisado: 04-10-25
As we all know, "The Coven" is a multi series series, (think as "The Coven" as a TV show and each season is a different series, the individual books are episodes), this is book 7 the Fire Witch of Elemental Magic. if you are curious about the rest of the series involved in "The Coven" the series in question this is the order.
The Chosen Witch
Elemental Magic
Academy Magic
School of Magical Arts
Fae Magic
Old Magic
Shifter Magic
Vampire Magic
If there is anything else, I am unaware.
I noticed that there was some audio issues in this book but it is usually pretty easy to ignore. I like this book and can't really understand why this is not included in the it's a complete book for elemental magic on here but I think its worth the read.

Historia
I was nobody. No matter how hard I tried, I never fit in with anyone at my high school. Now I know why. Turns out I'm a witch. A scary powerful one, too. Except The Coven that claimed me won't teach me how to use my magic. Suddenly, I'm selected by the Goddess to hunt down a mythical locket needed to save the world from destruction. The only person who actually tries to help me is the alarmingly attractive Tennessee. He has immeasurable power and breathtaking mismatched eyes. I'm drawn to him on a level I can't explain...and he's forbidden from getting too close to me.

As we all know, "The Coven" is a multi series series, (think as "The Coven" as a TV show and each season is a different series, the individual books are episodes) this is only books 1 through 6, not the a complete series because it's missing book 7. if you want to continue this series, you will need to find book 7 the Fire Witch. if you are curious about the rest of the series involved in "The Coven" the series in question this is the order.

I noticed that there was some audio issues throughout this book but it is usually pretty easy to ignore, with the exception around hour 39 (I can't give an exact time stamp because I'm that person that will leave a review after they finish) where Taegan gets called Evelyn for a while, that was really distracting for me. Other than the small mistakes that's out of a person's control I rate it as an excellent read.

Missing/lost information
Revisado: 11-24-24
Found this on its own and normally I would be happy with a full series with a nice sounding voice actor. However, this does not feel like a complete series. This feels like a series within a series and I feel so lost. (This left me with a lot of feelings. I apologize for the size of this review. please do not get me wrong because I do like the book, but I have some complaints.)
At first, the blind amnesia was actually working for this. It made it so much easier to get built up with the character used as our introduction to the world, also known as Saffarella (I love the nickname) and started laying the groundwork to a great mystery, which actually kept me engaged.
But then things happen we end up having a side tangent. (sorry try not to spoil too much) Which would have been fine if the book hadn't change to switching POV that doesn't always match the actual point of view AND the constant references to stuff that happened outside of this book series. It was to the point where I felt so lost I had to fill in myself with questions, which it's okay if done in moderation, but there was so much missing information. I straight up, went to this author's page and looked at their other books not connected to this series and found some of those characters and thier build up. This made it feel like it we were given a list in the middle of a book series, but never provide the rest.
I kinda wish there was more build up with how this world works or even its Magic. Because everything kinda feels like a there's an easy deus ex machina within reach because Magic. When it does put limits, it's convenient to force the plot along to the next destination and not really explained why fully. There's so many unexplained creatures that get brought up, or have one time appearances. Surprisingly, I'm actually not upset about this, it adds mystery to continue the book to find out who it is? What's their motivation? and what else is there? but it still adds on to the overall argument of not feeling complete.
This series also built up a character as the big bad, with constant appearances or references of this character. Then did nothing to add a resolution, and because of that, it felt like it was more incomplete. It felt like we got pulled into a side quest told there was a main quest and had completed side instead of the main objective, this would be fine this wasn't marketed as a complete series book.
In the end, I feel like I wouldn't be complaining nearly as much if the other books that aren't technically part of this characters story arc but with how often they are being alluded to are definitely in the same series or at least are in the same universe were attached to a series in audibles series library like they did in this one where fay magic had individual books and then a complete series book, except they could do books 1 through 4, 5 through six, etc... The only other thing they could probably do that would make me happy without adding in the rest of the implied series was have a resolution involving the big bad they had successfully built up.
tldr:
Yes, it completes one particular character's story arc with the implied information you have to read from other books written by this author outside of this.

No bulk world building, good pacing
Revisado: 09-28-24
I picked this at random and I love how they sprinkle in world building so they don't overload any one section. leaving bits and pieces of important information till it's necessary fully admit I didn't see one of the twists coming near the end

Phrasing and voice acting.
Revisado: 08-13-24
I feel like a voice acting can make or break a story. It didn't really Sound like it was spoken with emotion, Just read off the script. Other thing that impacts this Personally, for me was repeat of phrasing or a lot of repeat language. I understand that some phrases has to be used constantly, but the amount of times angel instinct was used for example is a little much in the end.

Explains some things
Revisado: 06-29-24
I feel like it explains more of the character, Neferet before the change. It seems like she has us Anti-social disorder. Keep in mind, I am not a psychologist, so I can't say for sure,
however, it worked through her thought process, showing that she didn't get help as a human. It felt like she didn't get help as a vampire, especially with her actively hiding it, and it was left untreated. With signs or warnings misunderstood to seem as comfort, (Example. The moonlight shining on the bull's statue of a rape victim, being seen as majestic It's not a wonder why she would appreciate a white bull). It actually kind of makes sense why she completely turns evil based off of this past. Overall not bad Kind of wish there was a little more story after the change like how they did the oath one Overall, not bad, definitely more of a mature audience
