Historia
At Slough House - MI5’s London depository for demoted spies - Brexit has taken a toll. The “slow horses” have been pushed further into the cold, Slough House has been erased from official records, and its members are dying in unusual circumstances, at an unusual clip. No wonder Jackson Lamb’s crew is feeling paranoid. But are they actually targets? With a new populist movement taking hold of London’s streets and the old order ensuring that everything’s for sale to the highest bidder, the world’s a dangerous place for those deemed surplus.

Best book of the series so far.
Revisado: 12-04-24
By far, the most suspenseful and realistic novel of the series. No characters are safe. The world isn’t made out of rainbows and happy endings.

Historia
After a showdown with the notorious Yemeni terrorist known as The Panther, John Corey has left the Anti-Terrorist Task Force and returned home to New York City, taking a job with the Diplomatic Surveillance Group. Although Corey's new assignment with the DSG - surveilling Russian diplomats working at the UN Mission - is thought to be "a quiet end", he is more than happy to be out from under the thumb of the FBI and free from the bureaucracy of office life.

Kinda repetitive
Revisado: 01-17-23
He uses different phrasing to describe the same situation over and over and over. We get it, if the bomb goes off it’s going to be messy.

Historia
Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

If you don’t understand, that’s normal.
Revisado: 06-20-22
During certain sections of the book, especially in the middle, I felt like I was having a stroke. I couldn’t remember where characters came from, why they were being used and abused. I was confused as to the motives of our main character.
This is normal. It all comes together around chapter 40
The narrator is an unreliable witness. He has no problem distracting you from the truth until the end of the book. Indeed this is one of the few stories I’ve read recently that genuinely surprised me at the end.

Not the book you were looking for
Revisado: 05-03-22
If you enjoyed the wit and humor of Carl Hiaasen’s best selling novels, you have come to the wrong place. This is a murder mystery along the lines of author Michael Connelly or Lee Child, but not as good. Imagine Stephen King writing a John Grishamesque legal thriller. He could totally do it, but would you want to read it?
