Dirk went through it in this one, it took a dead man to bring him sense, and he faces a foe worthy of the name Zahrov. An excellent performance from the narrator, and an excellent story from the author.

That Cliffhanger.

Jim Butcher you Wiley bastard. That cliffhanger will have me sweating for weeks. Your a madman, but I respect your craft.

As usual James is in top form, bringing life and emotion to Butchers work, making you feel the stress and emotion of the characters as they try to face off against that which is greater than they.

I eagerly await the next audiobook, to see the upcoming storm in it's full power.

the story was interesting, all told in voicemail messages between an Indian woman and her mother the story itself is very interesting and the twists and turns in that are actually just effing awesome, the relationship between the daughter and mother in the story is spot-on, absolutely glorious. the voice acting was also great, I can't go into much detail without spoiling anything but the voice acting is perfect. This is the gold standard that all Audible Originals should stand by.

this is a fantastic story, a tale of adventure on the high seas on ice instead. the ending has a moral worth hearing, having a matriarchal society suffering similar problems to our own.

the narration was alright, most of the audible original's are. But the start is melodramatic and drags on. the middle was actually rather enjoyable, up to the point where a specific character dies, then I lost all sympathy for the main character or the bride herself.

The story here is about a kid stranded on a planet somewhere in outer space called sovereign. the first chapter is good at grabbing you. but throughout the chapters it keeps on stopping the action and talking about his earth life, which would be fine, if it didn't drag on and on about how much he misses home and how his friends on earth where so cool. It's almost like the author didn't like the world he himself built, so he added a ton of earth filler.

The voice actor is good at being one person, his vocal range needs work. When every girl sounds the same, and every guy sounds like the main character, it makes the story pretty hard to follow.

Before you say "it's a kids book!" So was Harry Potter, or The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe. I forgive the author if it's their first or even third work, but this is a an Audible Original. you know... those stories that are "made to be listened to." The whole story is interesting but ruined by our main character and the filler, and the voice acting needs a lot of work.
All in all, shoddy and lackluster.
