Historia
In this honest, layered and unforgettable book that alternates between storytelling and her own poetry, Pamela Anderson breaks the mold of the celebrity memoir while taking back the tale that has been crafted about her. Her blond bombshell image was ubiquitous in the 1990s. Discovered in the stands of a football game, she was immediately rocket launched into fame, becoming Playboy’s favorite cover girl and an emblem of Hollywood glamour and sexuality. But what happens when you lose grip on your own life—and the image the notoriety machine creates for you is not who you really are?

Historia
It was the trial that stunned America, the verdict that shocked us all. On July 5, 2011, nearly three years after her initial arrest, Casey Anthony walked away, virtually scot-free, from one of the most sensational murder trials of all time. She'd been accused of killing her daughter, Caylee, but the trial only left behind more questions: Was she actually innocent? What really happened to Caylee? Was this what justice really looked like?

Syed has maintained his innocence, and Rabia Chaudry, a family friend, has always believed him. By 2013, after almost all appeals had been exhausted, Rabia contacted Sarah Koenig, a producer at This American Life, in hopes of finding a journalist who could shed light on Adnan’s story. In 2014, Koenig's investigation turned into Serial, a Peabody Award-winning podcast with more than 500 million international listeners.

Good conversations with interesting people
Revisado: 06-30-24
I really appreciate the podcast hosts for bringing attention to human trafficking. You have very interesting people on your show. I’ve began to listen since I have seen Princess Eugenie seem to be more supportive of the royal family and away from Harry and Meghan and their negativity. I am American but I have a lot of respect for the royal family and the work they do, This podcast seems to fall under the umbrella of what the royal family stands for.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Revisado: 06-30-24
I really enjoyed this book. Both of my daughters were competitive gymnasts and I can really relate to the story and the emotions. I’m so sorry that this happened to Maggie but I’m so proud of her ability to go on in her life. She is a wonderful example for young girls!

Historia
Raised in sleepy English suburbia, Georgina Lawton was no stranger to homogeneity. Her parents were White; her friends were White; there was no reason for her to think she was any different. But over time her brown skin and dark, kinky hair frequently made her a target of prejudice. In Georgina’s insistently color-blind household, with no acknowledgement of her difference or access to Black culture, she lacked the coordinates to make sense of who she was.

The author’s anger
Revisado: 06-30-24
I was a little disappointed in the way the author dealt with her anger at her mother. I understand the shock of learning a family secret as my family has experienced something similar. Family secrets happen often and are sometimes held to protect the family as a whole - as in my case and the authors case. Like the author, our father had passed away before the secret was exposed and was unable to tell his side of the story. I’m not discounting that the authors feelings are real. It was just difficult to listen to when thinking of my own experience.
