Historia
The girl had been staring into her mirror all morning before she picked up the small bottle of sulphuric acid and poured it over her forehead. Samira was a young woman with her whole life ahead of her. What could have brought her to this? DC Jerry Pardoe and DS Jamila Patel of Tooting Police suspect it's suicide. But then a meek husband kills his wife, and the headteacher of the local school throws her pupils out of a window. It's no longer a random outbreak of horrific crimes. It's a deadly virus. And it's spreading.

okay, I can get into this
Revisado: 04-16-25
Every once in a while you run into a freebie that is actually good.
Great characters thar are likeable, good pace, excellent narrator, and interesting plot.
This isn't a deep thinker, more like a great lazy weekend listen.
I've already purchased the 2nd book and am looking forward to see what these two detectives do next.
FYI, even though this book is fairly lighthearted, it does have alot of vivid gruesome scenes. If a 9 yr old girl eating her dog or someone cutting a penis off and frying it in a pan doesn't bother you, then you'll be just fine with Ghost Virus 🙂

Historia
“You like it darker? Fine, so do I,” writes Stephen King in the afterword to this magnificent new collection of twelve stories that delve into the darker part of life—both metaphorical and literal. King has, for half a century, been a master of the form, and these stories, about fate, mortality, luck, and the folds in reality where anything can happen, are as rich and riveting as his novels, both weighty in theme and a huge pleasure to digest.

The King still inhabits the throne. Well done and enjoyable. More introspective than scary, but engaging characters nonetheless.

Then "The Store" announces plans to open a local outlet, which will surely finish off the small downtown shops. His concerns grow when "The Store's" builders ignore all the town's zoning laws during its construction. Then dead animals are found on "The Store's" grounds. Inside, customers are hounded by obnoxious sales people, and strange products appear on the shelves.

Revisado: 03-05-18
Well developed characters, excellent pace, a nice overall Horror Story from start to finish. There were times where I had to turn audible's off because I felt so much dread for the town of juniper and the characters. when a story can impact you that much, that is a sign of a successful story.
Well done! I can't wait to read another one of his books :)

Historia
In 1925, earthquakes and a rising sea level left Lower Manhattan submerged under more than 30 feet of water, so that its residents began to call it the Drowning City. Those unwilling to abandon their homes created a new life on streets turned to canals and in buildings whose first three stories were underwater. Fifty years have passed since then, and the Drowning City is full of scavengers and water rats, poor people trying to eke out an existence, and those too proud or stubborn to be defeated by circumstance.

Great Graphic Novel come to life!
Revisado: 12-11-17
Written by the author who brought Hell Boy to life, Joe Golem is a great steampunk-ish novel about a golem, who happens to be a detective.
It's not War and Peace, but a YA story with engaging characters. Easy listening.

Historia
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep: They become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place.... The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease.

Move over Stephen King, there's a new kid in town
Revisado: 03-27-17
One of the best psychological stories that I've so far this year! !
Told from the Viewpoint of a 23 your old woman who flashes back to when she was 8 years old. 8yr old Merry's beloved older sister Marjorie begins to act strangely. her mother is convinced she's has had a psychological break, but her father's convinced that she's possessed. The author does an excellent job at alluding to both so you as a reader we'll never know for sure what really happened to Marjorie. it scared the hell out of me! according to reviews even Stephen King said this books scared him !
