Great narration by the author (which is very rare),

I love that this finally came out on audio. I read it the first time in print, when at a pivotal time considering alternate (more aligned) work experiences for my future.

Since then, I went from working in government, to consulting, entrepreneurship, investing, advising startups…I just keep imagining the next work experience.

And I know this book was a voice in my head telling me to imagine through experience. Try things out!

I’m also thinking this’ll be great to listen to a “job” randomly once in a while, like pulling a tarot card for the day, to imagine myself in that experience.

I bought the audio and 3 hardcover editions off Amazon to give to Startups I advise and invest in.

Finally, a definitive guide that s User-Centric, with no BS, and tons of wicked case studies and remarkable examples.

The author nailed it.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ego Is the Enemy to be better than the print version?

I bought both. Audio for first quick listen. Print to re-read and underline.

What other book might you compare Ego Is the Enemy to and why?

The writing is so tight - illustrations so curated - and principles so universal that I think of the author as a modern day philosopher, that people actually care to read.

This book is UNIQUE among others on the topic, but...
I compare this AUTHOR to: Tim Ferriss, Seth Godin, Adam Grant, Robert Greene and Stephen Pressfield.

Have you listened to any of Ryan Holiday’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

After listening to Ryan narrate "The Obstacle Is The Way" his voice really brings it to life in a unique way. I loved "Ego" for the same reason.

I like how his super young voice sounds reading his super-wise words.

What did you learn from Ego Is the Enemy that you would use in your daily life?

Defined Ego in a fresh way and demonstrated how it has held back people throughout the ages. It gave me hope that Ego can be overcome and showed success stories of those who did just that.

Natasha Soudek Nailed It!!

What did you like best about this story?

This was better than his "Miniature Wife" stories.
Great story, solid pacing, EXCELLENT new narrator Natasha Soudek on the scene!

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I considered getting the ebook, but am so glad I got the audiobook because I found Natasha Soudek (who reads the From the regional office chapters). I'm now going to hunt down everything else she has done is Sci-Fi. Mike Chamberlain is also great as always.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I listen to Sci-Fi, I don't cry. Except when zombies or aliens attack babies. :)

What made the experience of listening to From Presentation to Standing Ovation the most enjoyable?

Author does a great job with self-narration, but I suppose he's a world class speaker. ;)

What was one of the most memorable moments of From Presentation to Standing Ovation?

Love the intro story about the author's life being saved by a public speaker, very powerful to see why he's so passiobate about helping others get their message to those who need it.

Liked the story of his meeting with Warren Buffet, and the memorization tool he gives through visualization is super valuable to me.

Any additional comments?

Not sure why this is so inexpensive, it was worth $20 or a credit, but it was nice to just use a few bucks and preserve my credits.

Buy it, one of the best books on public speaking I've come across. VERY actionable too!
