Pharmacist take
Revisado: 05-25-24
As a clinical pharmacist, I really appreciate the attention they are bringing to HRT and how beneficial it can be. However, I believe that most of their take on bio identical, hormones and compounding pharmacies and pharmacist is greatly and sorely mistaken, and is doing a huge disservice to the women that they are speaking to.

Historia
Over 30 years ago, Dr. Henry Wright experienced major success in praying for people to be healed from disease. But suddenly the healing stopped. He began asking God why people weren’t being healed. Through a pursuit of God’s Word and truth, he began a lifelong journey of learning the spiritual roots of disease and blockages to healing. In this journey, he discovered that about 80 percent of all disease has a spiritual root issue and is a direct result of a breakdown in our relationship with God, ourselves, or others.

Historia
A clinical psychologist’s exploration of the modern dilemmas women face in the wake of new motherhood. When Molly Millwood became a mother, she was fully prepared for what she would gain: an adorable baby boy; hard-won mothering skills; and a messy, chaotic, beautiful life. But what she did not expect was what she would lose: aspects of her identity, a baseline level of happiness, a general sense of well-being.

My goodness- what a terribly depressing book. Please do not read if you have PPD. This woman makes having children sound like the absolute worst curse one could have. Her voice reading this book sounds like a miserable person who has no hope. She puts living in a ‘me generation’ a whole new meaning- everything is about me, me, me (including having a baby!) So sad to depict pregnancy and child bearing as well as raising children as such a massive inconvenience and disturbance to life. It’s also terribly disturbing that she is trying to sell a notion that everything should be 50/50- spoiler alert: it never will be! Your husband can’t carry the baby, birth the baby or breastfeed the baby- instead of deciding this isn’t right or fair, understand that this is how we were made and there is no changing it. Don’t waste your money on this book, I’m begging you.

Historia
"Who am I becoming?" That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. Outwardly, he appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren’t pretty. So, he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: "Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life." It wasn’t the response he expected, but it was - and continues to be - the answer he needs. Within this audiobook, you’ll find a fascinating road map to staying emotionally healthy and spiritually alive in the chaos of the modern world.

Literally the best book I’ve read in decades. I’ve read it over and over and recommended it to anyone that I can. Any negative review of this book is living in denial and won’t do the work.

Historia
Burnout. Many women in America have experienced it. What’s expected of women and what it’s really like to be a woman in today’s world are two very different things - and women exhaust themselves trying to close the gap between them. Sisters Emily Nagoski, PhD, and Amelia Nagoski, DMA, are here to help end the cycle of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Instead of asking us to ignore the very real obstacles and societal pressures that stand between women and well-being, they explain with compassion and optimism what we’re up against - and teach us how to fight back.

Historia
We live in a time of unprecedented opportunity for women. Yet despite centuries of progress, true equality remains out of reach. What will it take to bring us to a tipping point? To leadership expert and social entrepreneur Claudia Chan, the key is shifting to a "me for we" mind-set, where individuals root their effort in a mission far bigger than personal success, and getting everyone—women and men—to work together for social change. By lifting others, we not only make the world better, but we can also discover our greatest meaning and achieve lasting fulfillment.

This felt less motivational and more required training at work. Really disappointed definitely wouldn’t recommend unless this is literally the very first personal development / motivational book you’ve ever read.

Great book- I wish the author would have spent less time trying to promote some Ketone product that he obviously has a vested interest in. Big turn off.

In Food: What the Heck Should I Eat?, Dr. Hyman looks at every food group and explains what we've gotten wrong, revealing which foods nurture our health and which pose threats. He also explains food's crucial role in functional medicine and how food systems and policies affect our environmental and personal health.

Definitely needs some fact checking
Revisado: 10-21-18
As a pharmacist and holistic nutritionist- I agree with some of the things he says in the book- however, some of the information is downright harmful and laughable. You know during hurricane coverage, how the meteorologists always seems to be blowing away in the harsh winds, yet there are pedestrians walking nearby with no problems? That’s exactly what this book reminds me of- some good information and then a bunch of taking information way out of context and being totally far fetched to push your agenda. For instance, he talks about how it’s ‘so hard’ to eat plant based and so many end up with deficiencies- does he live in 2018? Maybe it was hard in 1993! Also, ‘beans are the enemy’ really? And still pushing that they have harmful substances in them- you know those are gone once you cook them, right? In fact they are beneficial and protective. This book is a good thought but clearly poorly executed with extreme bias and personal agenda.
