Historia
Iris Hollow and her two older sisters are unquestionably strange. Ever since they disappeared on a suburban street in Scotland as children only to return a month a later with no memory of what happened to them, odd, eerie occurrences seem to follow in their wake. And they're changing. First, their dark hair turned white. Then, their blue eyes slowly turned black. They have insatiable appetites yet never gain weight. People find them disturbingly intoxicating, unbearably beautiful, and inexplicably dangerous.

genre bending, mind warping and beautiful

This book is so, so, so good. I love the gothic genre and this book was perfect. it is not at all like the many other gothic novels it is unique and gorgeous.

Historia
For centuries, the mysterious dark-robed figure has roamed the globe, searching for those whose complicity and cowardice have fed into the rapids of history’s darkest waters - and now it is heading in our direction. It has been years since Helen Franklin left England. In Prague, working as a translator, she has found a home of sorts - or, at least, refuge. That changes when her friend Karel discovers a mysterious letter in the library, a strange confession and a curious warning that speaks of Melmoth the Witness, a dark legend found in obscure fairy tales and antique village lore.

thoroughly enjoyable just a bit slow paced

Good story, I just found it exceedingly slow and if we're being honest a bit boring but I am glad I persevered.

Historia
When Cora Seaborne's brilliant, domineering husband dies, she steps into her new life as a widow with as much relief as sadness: her marriage was not a happy one. Wed at 19, this woman of exceptional intelligence and curiosity was ill-suited for the role of society wife. Seeking refuge in fresh air and open space in the wake of the funeral, Cora leaves London for a visit to coastal Essex, accompanied by her inquisitive and obsessive 11-year old son, Francis, and the boy's nanny, Martha.

A bit slow paced but deeply enjoyable
Revisado: 06-05-21
I like the story (it's not as you might expect and more of a story of a lady and the relationships she builds) but there is an air of supernatural and a bit of mystery that don't take the main stage. I really can not wait for the tvshow adaption that is to star Tom Hiddleston as the Will Ransome. I also think it is more enjoyable in audiobook format then as an actual physical book but that's just me.
