Magical, inspiring stories
Revisado: 10-11-22
These beautiful stories—read beautifully by the author-play with the conventions of fairy tales yet are still satisfyingly full
of magic. So well written and told—and full of wise fun.

Enter the 1920s Golden Age of Detection with this first novel from Dorothy L. Sayers, featuring the debut of a dashing gentleman detective, one of the great characters of mystery fiction - Lord Peter Wimsey. An unidentified corpse is found in a bathtub, and the police are jumping to conclusions about its identity and that of the murderer. Lord Peter Wimsey steps in and, with the help of his friend, Inspector Parker; and his manservant, Bunter, solves the mystery.

The perfect narrator for Peter Wimsey
Revisado: 01-15-21
I’m a long-time fan of Sayers’ novels, and I’ve listened to several recordings of Who’s Body. I absolutely loved David Case as narrator. He sounds exactly like how I’ve always imagined Lord Peter Wimsey would sound—and like the upper class British people I’ve known. His somewhat nasal voice takes getting used to if you’re accustomed to Ian Carmichael (soft-spoken actor in the BBC series based on the novels)—and I think that’s why some reviews here on Audible criticize Case’s performance. But for me, Case is and always will be the definitive Lord Peter. He’s a wonderful reader, as he plays the different characters in such a way that you can easily distinguish between them (essential in a Sayers novel, as Sayers has long passages of dialogue without dialogue tags.) I just wish Case would narrate more of the Lord Peter novels.
